"You know," spoke Ami so suddenly that her voice broke through the comfortable silence that filled the air with tension. "Perhaps it's about time we looked for a new leader."
The tension grew a bit thicker, Ami was never the type to speak so suddenly unless they were thinking of a plan to stop the negaverse. But she had spoken so out of the blue and boldly, her statement of a new leader sending knots in the other girls' stomachs.
"Why would we need a new leader?" Usagi asked a bit dumbly, old eyes watching the soldier of Mercury. Something struck her as odd and out of place, the blue haired girl had been acting so strangely as of late. She hadn't been the same, really, and it worried the blonde. "I think I do a fairly good job."
No one missed the snerk of sarcasm the girl let out, blue eyes watching the princess. "I just think that, maybe, the responsibility is getting to you. You've slowed down, your reaction time is down by almost fifty percent... And you don't even know how to handle yourself in council! You're a disgrace to our galaxy, Usagi, and I think it's time that you stepped down to give way to a replacement."
A hand slammed down on the table, green eyes incredulous. "A replacement? What the hell has gotten into you, Ami. You've never said anything so ridiculous even in joking!"
"Our princess is a fool and needs to do her job better." That was all she was saying. Too busy studying the soldier of thunder, she missed the dark look and narrowing eyes that the blonde bunny gave.
She didn't, however, miss the cold tone. "I need to do my job better?" she murmured, dark eyes watching the ice soldier. "I think you need to think about what you say before you say them."
All eyes were now on her. "And just what do you mean by that, Serenity?" There was contempt in that usually sweet and quiet voice.
"I think you know exactly what it means."
"Perhaps I don't, humor me."
Oh did that take balls, Minako, Rei and Makoto watching in alarm and surprise.
"You are the one not doing your job. Your job as Oracle, and even as a soldier, is to advise and alert the leader when there is something to report back with."
"Which I have," Ami cut in abruptly.
"Bull," she countered, moving to stand. "You have been keeping things from me. Such as Orions' removal, her turning her back to my galaxy... Even things involving my sister and possible minions."
"Those, princess, have been trivial things." She was trying to remain civil, having seen the problem with her trying to start such mutiny. She knew more then she had let on.
"Trivial or not, you are supposed to tell your commanding officer everything. I had to find out from Saedi, who promised me to say nothing, about Orion. Imagine my surprise, especially when I gave you ample opportunity to tell me, about your blatant lie to my face. And then I find you had a visitor who could be possibly working for the enemy, who says he was working for Saedi's fiancee, who you possibly have found."
The other's looked alarmed. When had this happened and how long had their princess known? She understood them not telling her, not wanting to have it leak back to their tactician. But for Ami to have said nothing...
"On top of that, I find you did not want me knowing because of Arrakis. And worse yet, you do not trust him!" That had seriously pissed her off, the rabbit trusting the dragon with her life. "And you have not trusted him, which is why you have yet to have helped him learn to defend against my sister and her son."
"But with good reason, princess. He could easily turn on us at any time, despite his pledges of alliance. And you are a bit too trusting..."
"Arrakis," she growled out, eyes now on her in alarm. "Wants nothing to do with his home of the Draco system, and has pledge full alliance with me and this system, knowing his fate should he turn. I believe you are being quite unreasonable."
"And this is why I didn't say anything to you! You refuse to listen to reason, thinking you know best! You constantly try to go against the rules that Galaxia has set up, you take no heed on danger and refuse to listen to my-"
"I do know best! Everything I have ever done was in the best interest for this planet and it's people! I've even put my head on the line to make sure others were hurt. Galaxia's rules are merely guidelines, and even then I can override them as I am her superior." Blue narrowed once more, watching the bespectacled girl open her mouth to speak.
"And yes, I am her superior, she will acknowledge that herself. As Cosmos, I am supreme ruler and the strongest out there. I take every heed on danger, but after so long even I have learned some things need to be sacrificed. And you're right, I do not often listen to you because there are times when even you are wrong.
"When Taiki was taken away, while I was against it knowing it was a trap, I indulged you because I knew how much you loved him. We were even in rush to go and rescue you upon capture... But the minute others were captured you wanted to take every precaution. You threw away my suggestion with out even thinking about it only for it to be right!" She needed to calm down, reign in her thoughts before she said something she'd regret. "I believe it is you, who may need some time off."
"And just what do you mean by that?" her voice had gone cold, the sound of hatred beginning to form. "Just what are you insinuating you selfish, clumsy, stupid-"
"ENOUGH! If you say one more word I will strip you of your powers and erase your memories."
