Inside the mind of a Social Outcast : My thoughts, My views, My world
Athiest, Feminist, Liberal, the list goes on. Take a look into the mind and world of a girl who is working to clear up stereotypes, explain her views, and help those with questions get answers.
Lift and Push<--A crappy short-story
Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

Miranda. A kind-of normal girl. Long auburn hair, deep brown eyes, a kind of dangerous-beautiful look. She's brilliant, in a sociopathic way. Full of information, useless, dangerous information. How to make bombs, how to make poison, the best way to steal a car, the best method to kill a person. How not to get caught.

My best friend. Miranda.

She loses track of time some times. Calls me in places, unable to recall how she got there. She sleeps for hours on end, wakes up tired most of the time. When she walks it's more like a shuffling, sleeping glide. Silent. Her eyes, so deep. That dark brown. That constant lost in thought look. She stares at nothing some times. Especially when we enter her apartment. The apartment.

There is a spot on the living room floor. It seems to capture her. Hold her. She'll stare forever it seems if you let her. She almost seems in shock sometimes, when she sees that spot.

Some times, she stops talking to people. She stays in her apartment for days. I'm not sure if she eats. She doesn't answer her phone. She doesn’t answer e-mails. But she'll answer the door, if you knock long enough.

She gave me a key. "In case of an emergency" she told me.

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

It's been nearly a week. I worry. I bought take-out.

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

I wasn't expecting...I didn't know...

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

She didn't tell me. She didn't tell me about her hallucinations. I never asked why she stared like that.

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

Bodies. She saw bodies. Eyes open. Staring. Making eye contact. Bloody. Dead. Dead. Bodies.

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

"This one won't go away" she said. "Why? Why won't this one go away?"

There. On that spot. A body. A man. Eyes Open. Glazed over. Bloody. Stuck in an eternal struggle. Fear. Fear permanently present on his decaying face.

That smell. That pungent odor. The aroma of death.

"I fell asleep" she said. "It was there when I woke up."

"They always go away when I tell them to"

"Why won't it listen?"

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and
push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

Discover. Where was I? What was I doing? Why didn't I notice? Why didn't I ask? I could've prevented this. He could have lived. Why?

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

Sirens. Lights. She cries. They place her in the car. They take her.

Slide the key into the lock, jiggle, turn the key left, jiggle, turn the knob, lift and push, enter the apartment. Her apartment. Miranda's apartment.

My best friend. Miranda.

I failed.

Friendship.

I failed.
