The Peaceful Dark
The darkened woods all lacquered black,
A single thought, “Never look back.”
It echoed through an angered mind,
It answers sought, but none did find.
The foliage of the shadowed trees
Swayed in a nonexistent breeze.
It seemed a wall of water wove
Throughout the deep, forbidden grove
In solitude, pure peace was sought
The price was paid, the wares were bought.
A gentle sigh, the calm embrace
Of nothingness in time and space.
