Occupation: Herbal healer
Bio: She is the youngest of 3 children, one boy and two girls. Tessa learned about herbs from her mother, an experienced midwife. Her father was a trader, so she was able to visit other places, if briefly, on some of his business trips. The lone son will soon take over his father's business, with middling success. They are now rather elderly, and don't leave home very often at all anymore, but Tessa still yearns for travel. Tessa and her sister stay and take care of them for the most part, and Tessa would likely have stayed forever out of a sense of duty, but her sister saw her true wishes and helped shove her out the door, taking over all the household responsibilities. A few years ago, she visited a major city by herself to see their "advanced" medical methods, but she decided that she would still much rather trust her herbs than any doctor with his long, confusing words and pointy metal implements. She carries a small bag (full of her herbal/medical supplies) at all times.
Personality:
She's usually very kind, but becomes rather business-like when working on a patient. She is often rather naive, and often just goes with the flow, but she can be firm when necessary. Detests the consumption of meat, a practice which is becoming more common with the drought. Always smiling and thinking of others first. Forgives easily, is frustrated quite often, and has a soft spot for old people, children, and animals.
