I Stood Alone
I stood alone, here,
At none's side,
For I'd no place to go.
I tried to find
A place to hide.
But there's nowhere that I know.
I've taken many walks;
My life-road twists and bends.
And now I've taken one last step
To where my life-road ends.
I laid alone here,
Long ago,
With no one that I know.
And as I died,
I wondered why
I stood alone, here, long ago.
