New Story Idea!!!
Mirror the Future
Laurellia Vorhees. Pretty, smart, super rich, popular, great singer & dancer; all her many qualities, plus more. She has two younger sisters, one younger brother & one older. Well, I'm going to write a story about her. Good for her, good for a new girl like me. So, ............. let's get 'er done!
I spotted Laurellia, sitting with the juniors, including her older brother. She's sixteen, he's seventeen. I'm in the soph. class. I pulled out my tablet, walked over & spoke,
"Hi Laurellia. I'm writing a story about you for the paper, so...."
The whole group, excluding Laurellia & her brother, burst out laughing. I stood there, skin white as a ghost's.
"Story... on Laure.... in the paper!? Ha-ha... she deserves the WHOLE paper on her. Oh wait... she OWNS it!" giggled Tiffany Lane, the richest, snobbiest girl in our high school.
Laurellia slapped her arm, causing Tiffany to yelp.
"It's fine. I'll be glad to be written about. If you're not busy, follow me around. Shadow me. You should get some good info that way." she said, slightly smiling.
I grinned, as all the color drained back to my face. Olivia walked over. "Olivia Sanders, what ARE you doing here?" Tiffany sneered.
Olivia frowned dryly. "Taking pix for the story. What are YOU doing here, Lane? Flaunting your money, I suppose?"
Tiffany glared, eyes almost balls of flame. I nudged Liv's arm, giving her a warning look quickly.
"Laurellia, we'll start on the story tomorrow, okay?" I said, dragging Olivia away from the table.
"Sure."
Olivia was smiling in triumph over her fiery comment as we sat down. Tiffany shook in pure fury & rage. She was SO gonna make Liv pay for making a fool outta her. Surely.
"My day suddenly hit a high note! I'm so MEAN, but you gotta love me!"
I just shook my head, "Pull another stunt like that & she'll have you turned into the school's enemy." She shrugged.
We went to Latin, then Science after Lunch. Then I got on the bus & began writing the Laurellia story. I said she had two bros, two sisters. She was an orphan after her parents divorced. She was rich; an A+ student; leader of the Drama Club; Most Likely to Succeed, Be Valedictorian, 2nd Best Dressed, Best Hair, 2nd Best Smile, etc. The model student for everyone in our skool. Heh.... When the bus got to my house, I saved & ran in.
(the next day) This day is starting off weird! I ran into Tiffany this morning, but she just shrugged it off & told me me to follow her. We stopped in front of a classroom, opened the door & went in. My heart stopped. The junior classroom!! But the teacher just smiled & gave me a notebook,
"Class, please welcome our aspiring young reporter, Samantha Madison, who is writing a story about our own Ms. Voorhees! Be on your best behavior & Sam might mention you in her story!"
I went ghost pale. Tiffany led me to a seat by the window, so I could observe the whole class.
"G/L Sam." she said, winking at me as she walked to her seat.
A few minutes later, Olivia was brought in the class & seated next to me, camera in hands & her swankiest outfit on.
"Hey Sam. Write anything yet?"
I frowned, "I can't. My tablet's in my bp, plus I don't have a pen..."
As I spoke, one blonde boy turned around, handed me a pen & winked.
I turned red, "Thanks."
Olivia smiled at him, but he'd already turned around. She glared at his back. I wrote down that Laurellia knew the answers to alot of the questions asked. At the end of class, I tapped the blonde boy on the shoulder & gave him the pen.
"Keep it. I'm Dylan."
