heres a horrible poem i wrote for English class. if you read down the page, the 1st letter of each line spell september. it's in iambic pentameter, which is what shakespeare wrote in. there are 10 syllables per line, and they are supposed to have an unstressed syllable followed by a stress syllable. this poem was horribly hard to write, but i did it, so now i grant you the prestigious honor of being able to read it.
Some slowly turning shades on bush and tree,
Ev’ry progressive night is colder still,
Pajamas change from silk to flannel warmth.
To football games and festive, fun events,
Elixirs, sweet of choc’late, warm the kids.
My mother cooks homemade tomato sauce.
Beautiful snowfall each flake a new shape.
Every leaf fallen, the trees are stripped bare,
Rustling leaves arouse imaginings.
