Symona took a tiny peek behind her and quickly turned back around and kept walking. They’re still there! What is it that they want? She pondered anxiously.
Symona had been stalked before; it was truly common for her. Males from the tender age of 12 to the more withered age of 62 had always been around her house ever since she was born. Symona’s mother brought home a different man every few weeks or so. Her older sisters Josephine and Esmera had lots of boyfriends in their 19 and 20 years of life. Even Symona’s younger sister Gabriella was starting to get boy crazy and she was just 11! All throughout their small village located in the Andes this family of females were known as the Heart Thieves. Boys and men from all around the region were smitten with these young women and girls, giving them the attention that a regal princess would die for. Fights broke out on Church Sundays and weddings, almost always over the honor of dancing with one of these women. Symona and her sisters were raised by a mother who was an expert at taking advantage of male mind. When Symona put her mind to it, her tom-boy exterior could be transformed into one of the best specimens of female beauty.
She rounded a corner stall and began to pick up her pace. She could hear the black boots of the country’s military personnel thudding towards her. Then an army official jumped out at Symona.
“Now I’ve got you!” He yelled in Spanish. He lunged for her tanned leg and his fingers fell just centimeters short. Symona stopped dead in her tracks, swiveling around and moving into the arms of the country’s corrupt servants. Sidestepping just barely out of the way Symona managed to make a run for it to the only place she knew, the house of her Grandmother.
