You know, too often we lose that spark in us that lets us marvel at things we don't understand. Do you remember that feeling? When you were little, did you see a magic trick, or an illusion, or even a machine, and instead of immediately thinking, "How does that work?" or dismissing it all together, you had that feeling in the pit of your stomach, or perhaps your soul, of pure and utter wonder? I think that's why I read fantasy, and watch anime, and play videogames. Not that mindless entertainment, but to search for that spark, in stories that are pure wonder. I think the last time I felt it was when I played Kingdom hearts. I don't know what it was, but something about it, lit off that spark. Adults and others who have simply written off fantasy and who no longer search for that spark are truly pitiful. They have lost that spark, all together I think. So they revert in to their shabby lives, and reality TV, and their dreary news. I think if everyone could feel that wonderful feeling again, we might be better able to understand each other. Maybe even bring peace to each other. Who knows? But ask one simple thing. Never lose that spark. Even in the darkest of times, it offers comfort.
