The place wasnt too safe for the mother and the son to keep living there.
She decided it was time to leave. As soon as they let her go from the hospital, she took as much as she could, and flee with her lover.
They have bough a lonely house, north of the Dragon Valley, close to a house where a witch called Athrea lives -her healing skills were useful from time to time when the kid was sick; thouch eventually she started to feel something diferent in that kid... a bad feeling- and not so far from the academy Hardin. For some time, that place was perfect for them to live with the peace they been looking for, while they raise the kid too.
Growing like that, he felt ok, he never found strange that his parents were diferent, her mother a human and his father a dark elf.
Six years have passed.
One day, a couple of mercenaries that were pasing by asked the mother if they could spend the night there. She was alone with the kid that day, the father was out, hunting the dinner. She refuse, because she never trusted in any mercenary, and especially humans like these.
The mercenaries got angry, and they went into the house by force, and when they saw the kid, the grabed him, threatening the mother with kill him if she dont give them what they request. It was there when the dark elf came back and saw the scene. The mercenaries, humans and dogmatists immediately they understood that they were together and told them that their love was a forbidden one, that they must aswer to the elders from the nearby town, but after that that, they said that they could just kill them and steal anything valuable in that house... starting with the kid.
-No!!! -cryed the mother while she rushed to the kid, trying to save him from that man-
-Shut up! -shouted the other guy while stabeing her in the belly-
-Damn you son of a b...!! -the drow, furious, drawing his sword run to the mercenaries-
The one carrying the kid, thow him while he draw his sword.
He crawled to his dying mother, trying to talk to her.
-Drenix... you must... be stronger... always... -coughs, and spit some blood while doing that- ...don't show your weakness, but your spirit... be brav--- -those were her last words-
-Mommy?... mom?... -he grabed her hands and shaked her trying to wake her up- Mom!!
The Dark elf was fighint with the other two, and while he wounded one in the left arm, that wasnt enought to end the fight.
Even with his age, the kid understand enough about the dead, so he already knew that his mother was dead.
Raising his view, he saw how they finish his father's life, with tears in his eyes, filled with anger and impotence because he was unable to do something.
Starting to feel how his anger, the rage, the impotence and the sadness were starting to mix with everything inside of him, while the mercenaries were walking towards him with their weapons in hand and an evil smile in their faces.
-Gwaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! -yelled to the air with all his anger, trying to stand up.
But something stoped him, he felt something... a pain, but those men were still far enough, and the havent done anything yet. Falling to the ground, leaning on his hands saw how his fingers... his hand, all his skin started to change, turning blue... his skin turned into scales...
-What is that?! -the men asked while a couple of wings grew slowly on the kid's back as well as a tail.
When his transformation was over, had the appearance of a small dragon, more or less 1½ meters long.
-He's a freak!... let's kill him and end with his suffering -they said
The kid finally contemplated his new body, watching his own hands and whatever his eyes could see, then he raised his view, watching with all his wrath at those mercenaries.
-You will pay for what you've done to my parents!!!
As soon as the one wielding the sword tried to cut his neck, the kid dodged the attack and made him fall, usin his newly adquired tail. It was still hard to move in that form, but the kid was learning fast.
The second guy managed to stab him in the shoulder with his dagger, but that only made him more angry, and after a roar of pain, the kid bit his leg, and throw him away several meters, leaving the dagger on the shoulder. The other then tried to attack him again, but it was of no use, the dragon jumped in the air and fall over him with all his weight
They realised that they couldn't do anything agains the kid, and tried to flee, but as soon as they tried, the kid, trying scream at them to stop, he couldnt, feeling something hot inside of him... fire... it was fire.
The fire reached one of the man who drop in the floor and started rolling, but was unable to stop the fire and died; his body remained burning for some more minutes.
-P... p...please... we.. we didnt wanted to...
-Save your sorry attempt to be for mercy, you pieces of s**t...
-Nooo---!
The kid's fire breath ended that man's life in a ery slow and painful way... he watched them as his parent's killers were burning and then... he felt tired.
He finally closed his eyes and gave up, thinking it was over.
