Atracted by the sounds she heard from afar, and the light from those men burning, came Athrea.
Walking a little farther, she found that creature sleeping. Looks like a very young Drake.
After a few more steps, she found them dead, her friends. Closing her eyes, she cried for that loss; with the time, she started to know them and care for them... she even became like an aunt for Drenix.
As soon as she started to walk towards the house, looking for the kid, something stoped her.

-Athrea? -a voice behind her, ona that she know very well
-Dre... Drenix -asked, without turning
-It's me...

The witch turned and saw that the voice came from the same dragon she've passed a few moments sleeping on the ground.

-What's hapening to me? -asked Drenix, with some sadness in his voice
-...What... happened here? -asked the witch

Even a dragon can cry... as the kid was crying while he related what happened there until he fell tired and unconscious.
The witch, in all her life -even with her appearance, she was older than she looks- never heard of anything like that ever, but also, she never heard of a relationship between a human and a dark elf.

«Could this be a punishment of the gods?...» She though
«It's posible...»
«Since she's a daughter of Kain, while he was a son of Shilen...» Looking at the couple
«After all... that's how the dragons were born acording to the legends after all...»

Athrea was analyzed the odds while tryingto calm the young... dragon...
she decided to take the kid with her, and raise him, while she study his status and find a way to return him back to "normal".

Athrea told about what happened to the members of the academy who knew that family. she said that the kid was missin -or even dead- when they've asked about him.

The next day, they went for the bodies, to bury them in a graveyad. When they saw the burned mercenaries they though it was a dragon from the valley that came, killed them and took the kid with him -the valley was a little close-.


They weren't too far from the truth anyway.
