| Yeah, ok << not a very long opening, per say...but it's just like an introduction so that you know a few things before I start actually posting for the real story. It takes me a while to write things, so it may be a while before I do more on this x.x and I tend to bop around between different stories, so... yeah... And it's not from any specific character's POV at the moment <<
This IS a shounen-ai... in fact... most of the characters are guys xD so there. Anyway, enjoy |

I was only five when it happened; when they took me away.
See, the city I live in has this fear of people like me: Mystics, they called us; people with strange powers stemming from the mind and consciousness. They could not stand us, and we were always being hunted, shunned, or killed. No one knew how we came about, why we existed, or why we were hated. It became a way of life for us to run when we became old enough to hold a decent job; until then, we would have to hide our abilities.
Well, one day, a group of scientists came to the city, saying they had a way to deal with us. They rounded up the children of the town who showed any signs of the 'mutation', as they were starting to be called, and placed them in 'The Lab'; a type of boarding school that would house the Mystics until they were 'cured'. Of course, the scientists never mentioned that, while there, the children would be exposed to experimentation. These people wanted to know who we were, why we had powers, how we controlled them, and all sorts of other things. They referred to our abilities as 'Minds', due to where they came from, and the energy they harnessed.
We were poked and prodded, tested and analyzed until we could no longer stand it. It was as if the scientists wanted to harness our power and possibly turn it against us; they were always searching for weaknesses. Every now and again, someone would die, or kill themselves because of the strain that was put on their physical bodies. Of course, there were those who wanted to know about Minds just as much as the scientists. Some of us did not care, as long as we had somewhere to sleep at night and food to eat.
To some of us, though, The Lab was the only safe place we had to hide; from the outside world, and from ourselves. This is our story...
