"I know you... I'll kill you."
"Who's there?"
"I know you..."
"Who are you?"
"... kill you..."

Shiva bolted upright in his bed, panting as his wide eyes searched the darkness of his room. There was nothing; no one was there. Only dark silence seemed to greet his examination. But something had been there, hadn't it? Could he have just imagined it? No... that couldn't be it.

'It was just a dream...' he thought to himself, a small hand running through the sweat-drenched blonde hair that stuck to his forehead in places. His small frame shivered as a cool breeze filtered through the open window across the room. Why had he had such a dream? What did it mean? He had had it several times recurrently over the past year, but never did he understand it or remember anything other than those few simple words.

Slowly sinking back down into the blankets, the boy sighed, letting his eyes drift shut. He had to get some sleep for school or he would be in deep trouble. He couldn't brood on this; it was only a dream, right?

---
"Keijimura Shiva; please report to the office. Keijimura Shiva, please report to the office." The voice over the PA system was loud and clear, causing most of those who were still rather half-asleep to jump in their seats. However, Shiva stood as he was instructed and, excusing himself, left the classroom. Really, he was a little glad to get away; he couldn't stand class first thing in the morning.

Shiva was a small kind of boy; smaller than most of the male population of the school, which often got him mistaken for a girl. Not that he ever tried to hide it, but he did argue the points to people. The school uniform wasn't exactly a help, either, the white collared shirt fitting loosely and hanging from his petite frame almost like a sheet. The black slacks might have been form-fitting on anyone else, but they hung from his slender hips, belted to his waist to keep them up. Because of his stature, it seemed he would have probably fit better in the girls' uniform, and many joked about that. It never really sat well with him that people poked fun at him in such a way, but he didn't let it bother him on the outside. It's not like he could do anything about it.

A sigh escaped his thin lips as he pushed the shoulder length blonde locks from his face; another reason for his effeminate appearance. Many people would say his hair was too long for a boy, or would say he should cut it because it was just too long in general. However, he was allowed to keep it at its length, and that made people think he really was a girl. He really couldn't help how the hair made him look; but cutting it never helped, either. He just looked like a young girl with short hair.

Entering the office, he pushed aside his mental complaints and glanced around the little area. The usual activity was transpiring; nothing special. But there was one thing that caught his eyes; or rather, a person that did. It was a tall kind of figure, rather dark and brooding by the looks of him, with short brown hair that fell about his angular face in soft waves, curling ever-so-slightly inward at the ends. Almond-shaped eyes stared rather blankly about the room, but they had an almost captivating feel to them, as if staring into them would cause you to fall into their depths. The boy had an air of something mysterious and it got Shiva rather curious.

"Keijimura?" Shiva was snapped from his analysis as the principal came through a door on the side of the office, gathering his attention.

"Yes, sir?"
"I've viewed your records and it appears that you're at the top of your class; very impressive." The blonde couldn't help but flush at the compliment, only managing to bow his head.
"Thank you, sir."

"Because of this, I'd like to ask you for a favor." With a nod, the man waved a hand toward the student Shiva had been examining only moments ago. "This is Atsuki Naoe. He's a new student, coming from the States. He's still Japanese, though."

Shiva bowed before looking back up at the other male, offering a bright smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Naoe didn't respond at all, his gaze merely traveling over the small form.

"I would like you to show him around the school and answer any questions he might have."

"Yes, sir." Shiva bowed once more before the two were allowed to leave the office. He had never been asked to do such a thing in the past, and it made him a little nervous to be the first person the new student met; he didn't want to make a bad impression or something. So, as they walked, he turned to his companion with a friendly smile.

"So, how do you like the school so far?" He asked curiously. However, he didn't much like the respond that ensued.

"I hate it." Naoe grumbled, his hands in his pockets as his dark eyes darted about the hallway. They then landed on the smaller male, narrowing in an almost menacing way. "And I don't need your help, so go away." Shiva was slightly taken back and he couldn't help but stop and stare at the brunette. With a shake of his head to clear his thoughts, he quickly followed after the other, who had merely kept walking as if not having noticed at all.

"That was rude!"
"Like I care." Naoe snapped before Shiva was in front of him, easily cutting him off. A glare came to his usually cheerful features.

"I don't mind if you don't want or need my help getting used to the school, but you could be a little less hostile about it." The only response he received was a dangerous glare and a shove as Naoe pushed past him.

"Get away from me and stay away if you value your face." Shiva watched as the other walked off, his anger rising. How could someone be so cruel? He was just trying to help! Honestly, some people. Taking a deep breath, he folded his arms over his chest, almost in a pout, before he shook his head. He just couldn't believe it. He had done nothing wrong.

Why did he have to have the luck of meeting the new guy, who was a total jerk? Had he done something to deserve that? With a sigh, he started back toward his classroom. 'I hate that,' he thought with a small growl. As if his day wouldn't be bad enough in the first place, it was ruined early by some guy with no people skills.

"I can only hope it gets better..."
