And it's not much... I'm a little iffy on whether I should mention some kind of childhood for Rai or not, so...yeah... Anyway, enjoy ^^|

The one thing that Rai hated more than anything - besides broccolli - was waking up before he was ready to. He didn't know why he woke up or how he was going to get back to sleep, but he knew one thing: sleep wasn't on his mind at that point. Not really. Sure, he was still tired, and they were all supposed to move out early that morning, but he just couldn't get back to sleep.
Not on an empty stomach, anyway.
Crawling from his bed, making sure not to wake up Hunter, who was in the bed across from his own, he slipped into his jeans and threw on his shirt before quietly creeping from the room. Why did he have to get stuck with Hunter, anyway? The guy talked in his sleep, for crying out loud! He was always so noisy... And all he could obviously think about was sex... And then, Ren had gotten his own room. Lucky devil.
Pushing those thoughts aside, however, he made his way down the hall and out of the little inn, going in search of a good convenience store. He wasn't sure what he wanted to eat; probably just a bunch of junk food. Junk food was good. Of course, the fact that he had been given limited money for this excursion would be a problem... But he was hungry! So, food it was.
The streets were so silent, almost eerie, and it made Rai's skin crawl to think of what kinds of wierdos could be out at that time of night. Or what kinds of demons. The Seven hadn't had much problem with demons as of late, but he was pretty sure they were still lurking around. The last thing he wanted to do was run into one at that time and point...
As he walked, Rai found his thoughts drifting to the others. They were all so different... it was strange. Hunter was a perve and was always getting smacked around by the female population o the group. Shizuka was so quiet, the blonde couldn't help but feel edgy when around her. Izumi was just too ditzy at times, even if she was pretty smart, even if that ability of hers came in handy. Alice was ok, really, probably the most normal out of all of them. Suzu was too brainy; she made Rai's head hurt with her words and whatever.
And then there was Ren. He wasn't sure why, but the green-haired swordsmen was always so distant or so mean. There were times when he just wanted to tie the guy to a chair and tickle him just to get him to smile. Because, we all know, that Rai is the guy who tries to get a smile from everyone. He got one from Shizuka just by beating Hunter to near death.
Of course, he had gotten a lot of smiles from that incident. But Hunter deserved it for walking in on him in the shower. Accident or not. Moving back to Ren, Rai wondered if there was a reason why he acted like that, or if he just liked being a total jerk? He didn't even know how to get much of a reaction out of him for anything. It annoyed him sometimes...
The gunslinger's thoughts were interupted as he came to a small 24-hour store. Glancing around, as if expecting to see someone else around, he walked into the store with a smile and instantly when for the snack isle. Snacks were cheap, and he could get all he wanted for just a little. And that's exactly what he did, taking a little from one thing and some from another. The man behind the counter just watched him with a raised brow as he approached.
"That's a lot of snacks..." He commented as he started wringing them up, putting them into a bag. Rai just shrugged, fishing out the right amount to pay.
"Hey, I'm hungry...this should hold me for an hour..." The man blinked and looked at the blonde boy as if he didn't believe him. But, with the serious look on Rai's face, he just shook his head and handed over the sweets.
"Have a nice night?"
"You, too!" Rai smirked and exited the store. Now, all he had to do was sneak back into the inn and that would be that! No one would even notice that he had left at all. The walk back to the building seemed shorter than the walk there, and he managed to sneak in unnoticed, sliding up the stairs to the rooms.
'Home free,' he thought with a smirk, quietly making his way down the hall. He just had to get to his room, and then he could snack a bit. No doubt with Hunters heavy sleeping, he wouldn't have to worry about making too much noise to wake the other male.
