In English class, we have just finished reading Julius Caesar. Followed by a project. You can do whatever you want, just as long as it has two characters and shows conflict. So Tekki and I decide to make a pair of Togas, Cesar's and Bruteses. Cesare's has holes and bloodstains from being stabbed, and Brutus's' had blood spatter from the stabbing.
Easyer said than done. First off, do you know how frickin hard it is to make a Toga hold it's shape! Tekki had to model because she cant sew, and I couldn't sew the Toga on myself. I tried and ended up sewing the Toga to my shirt.
after finally finishing them, we get some red food coloring, a paint brush, and go to town. It turned out looking really good, except (and I didn't figure this out till much later on) we put the blood spatter on the BACK of Brutus's' Toga. Oh ya, and Food coloring really, really stains, my hands are still red and we made them on Wednesday. We left them on the porch to dry, and the guy who was doing the remodeling went out their when we were at school. Can you imagine the fright he got?
We presented the Togas today, and I'm all worried that people will freak out, but it turned out to be a hit. Our teacher even got two people to try them on, and they walked around the entire school in them!
Later that day I'm in the library were I'm a student aid, and my friends Katlin and Doug are there as well (we were ditching the Pep-rally, with permission) and Katlin and I decide to where the Togas as we go to get some water from the vending machine. So when the bell is about to ring, we're still wearing the togas, and Katlin just pulls her's of and tosses it on the ground and out the door she goes. So I, still in my Toga, follow her out and yell "You come back and fold this toga right now!" What follows is a tug of war with Katlin's back pack as I try to drag her back to the library. I keep slipping on my over large toga, and keep falling on my but. Half way through the struggle, the pep-rally lets out, and I'm still in my toga hanging on to Katlin's back pack and yelling "Fold the Toga!"
It was a good day xd
