The Pain Chapter 2


Today, was a little different though, she wasn’t late like she assumed she’d be, but there just happened to be more demon essences today, than on a normal day. “Hmm.. Whats this got to do with?” she thought. Then out of nowhere, she was shoved aside by a work buddy of hers, Randy Menson. She laughed and returned his playfull gesture. He smiled at her for a minute then took her aside.

“Look, Carolynn, something big is going down in Kalosis. None of the Doctors here can pinpoint exactly what it is, but they all assume that it’s a rare poison caused by and ancient. We were all wondering, if maybe you could call in a favor from your brother Dryxx? He’s the only one of us who might know what this thing is.” He said in a hushed voice.

“Umm, I can call him, but you know how he gets if we don’t have an offering. Do you guys have anything?” Carolynn replied.

“Ugh. I knew we were missing something, I knew it seemed too easy.” He said in a frustrated tone.

“ Randy, it’s fine I’ll work something out, I’ll call him as soon as I can though okay?” She said.

“Lynn, please, don’t do what I think your’e going to do. Let us get something, please Lynn don’t do this to yourself.” Randy begged.

“Randy, it’s fine, it will take too long to gather what he wants, and I have it right on hand. I’m a big girl and I will live. Thank you for your concern though. It’s really sweet.” She said lightly and pressed a kiss to his cheek before she walked towards the exit to make her “phone call”. “Oh boy, this should be loads of fun. I just hope the a*****e doesn’t take too much this time. I really need to get my hours back right.” She thought before she disappeared off the face of the earth and reappeared in Kalosis. “ Here goes nothing… well, more like everything.” She thought. The door opened before she had the chance to knock, that was expected though. As the door flew open, she saw her older brother Dryxx standing there to greet her.

“Ahhhh, little sister. How are you Lynn-lynn?” he said in a loud, boistrous tone.

“Cut the bullshit Ryxx, you know why I’m here.” She threw back at him.

“Yes, I know why your’e here, but I’m afraid I can’t help you. I fear, that it is not my battle to fight, little one.” He said clearly upset by his own words.

He may be an a*****e, but he did love his sister, that was one thing Carolynn never forgot. Ever.

“Then, please accept my apologies for disturbing you brother. I will be on my way then.” Carolynn said.

“No! Don’t go lynn-lynn, I also fear that your scent has made me a bit thirsty, if you’ll excuse the pun.” He smiled nastily.

“Brother, have you fed today? If not then I’m sorry but you will have to find Supper elsewhere.” She replied nervously.

“Of course Lynn, but your taste is just so mouth watering. Please, just a taste sister.. Just a little bite.” He begged unashamedly.

“What the hell.” Carolynn thought, and then moved closer towards her brother pushing her neck out further.

After a minute of his feeding she pulled away. Only to have him pull her right back.

“Brother! Let go of me!” Carolynn yelled.

“Sorry Sister, but I can’t let you live. You are the only one who can undo what I’ve done, and I will never let that happen.” He said, then bit back down continuing to drain her.

“You b*****d! Fine then so long as I shall live you shall not!” She screamed at him.

Carolynn wrapped her hands around Dryxx’s throat and closed them tightly. He was shocked into releasing her neck just long enough for her to move away. She was in his house though, this was his advantage. “s**t, where do I go now?” She cursed in her head. He advanced towards her with the walk of a predator, and she was the pitiful prey, trapped in a corner, waiting to die.
He lunged at her with full force. All she could do was stand there in terror, and watch him gain speed.
