The Rebirth.


Carolynn woke to the beeps of the EKG machine, and the hustle of the busy hospital. She felt horrible, like a ton of bricks holding an elephant, just fell on her. She struggled to sit up looking around to see if another nurse or Randy was near. They weren’t. “Great, just my luck.” She thought bitterly. She tried to reach over to push the call button only to find that it hurt severely every time she move her upper body in a direction that wasn’t forwards or backwards. Feeling helpless she laid back down waiting for someone to come check on her. After a few minutes of lying there silently she drifted off into a deep sleep.
“Once again, she was in the forest, though this time she was alone. Or so she thought until, a strong hand placed itself on her side. She gasped, and turned to face the stranger from before. Still taken away by his beauty, she outstretched her hand and laid it upon his cheek. She gasped again. It was still so cold, and so smooth. How can any mans skin be like this. He’s not human. The thought ran through her mind quickly before she could push it out. “Of course he’s not human. He has fangs for ******** sake.” She thought. He didn’t move until she moved her face forward, trying to kiss him again.
“Please, back away. Your scent is too strong. I can only handle it in small doses.” he said quickly, backing away from her as he spoke.
“ Are you saying I stink?!” she asked disgusted.
“Oh god no, if only you smelled bad. On the contrary, you have the most delectable smell ever. It’s begging me to taste you. I shouldn’t have come. I just had to make sure you were safe.” He said as he started to walk away.
She grabbed him and pulled him back to her.
“No, Please, Don’t go. I don’t want to be alone. I haven’t the slightest idea where I am or how to get home. Please, don’t leave me.” She said softly as she looked at her feet in sadness.
He looked at her for a moment confused by her actions.
“You mean you actually want me around? Even though I’m a monster, and I could kill you with only a thought? Or do I scare you? You have to be honest. Tell me do you really want me around?” he said strongly.
“Yes, I really want you around. Besides, it would take a hell of a lot more than a thought to kill me. You’re not the only monster here.” She said wickedly as she bared her own set of fangs at him.
Taken aback by her actions, he stumbled backwards. “So, that’s what’s calling him to her. It wasn’t her blood, it was her power!”he thought. He gathered himself, and stood up tall again.
“You’re strong, I can smell it now. What breed are you?” He said sternly.
“Half Charonte and Half Night Stealer. And yourself?” she said smugly.
“Hmm, strange. We match.” he said curiously.
They stood and stared at one another not daring to move.

All of a sudden, Carolynn was awakened by the sound of a door slamming. She shot up, forgetting about the pain in her body until she was still.
“Owwwww!! Holy s**t that hurts!!!” she screamed.
Immediately Randy was by her side holding her close.
“Oh My god, Lynn we thought you were dead. Hell, It’s a miracle you’re here. You actually were pronounced dead like 4 hours ago.” He said in a raised worried voice.
“I… died..? How the ******** did I die? I’m still here.“ she said.
“We brought in a specialist to remove the poison, but when you didn’t wake up, we thought it was too late.“ he said sadly.
“Poison? There was no poison in my body.” she stated as if even the mere assumption was pure ludicrous.
“Lynn, your brother didn’t only take blood from you. He tried to turn you full Charonte.” he said solemnly.
“Pure Charonte? How dare he.” The thought was enough to send her back to kill the sorry son of a b***h once and for all. He knew exactly what turning a half breed to a whole breed did to her kind. It wasn’t pretty or painless. That son a b***h really had tried to kill her.
