I love that movie now! It was almost as good as, if not just as good as, Nightmare Before Christmas!
I went to see Tim Burton's Corpse Bride today with my mom, my little siblings, Cal, and Naoko. At the beginning, the mainly monochrome color scheme was a little annoying, but you get used to it, and eventually learn to like it.
Not only that, but it's a really cute movie! If you didn't know, Corpse Bride is about a gawky, awkward guy named Victor, who is soon-to-be married to a girl named Victoria. But when he's practicing his vows in the woods and says them perfectly, slipping the ring on the finger of a girl's corpse, he ends up married to her. Next thing Victor knows, he's in the Afterworld, getting used to being married to a corpse. It also has a very cute, very satisfying ending, which I won't give away.
Butterflies are a bit of a recurring theme in the story. It starts out with Victor drawing a picture of a butterfly. The same butterfly turns up a little later on as well. It's all symbolic and everything. (Butterflies are the symbol of journeys, right? Or something like that.)
Anyways, yeah. If you haven't seen the movie, you should check it out. Oh, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is coming out in November. It looks really good. See it when it comes out. And the second Pirates of the Carribean movie is coming out next July. See that too. Even though I don't know how good it'll be, but oh well. As long as it's got Johnny Depp in it, it can't be that bad. (It better have Johnny Depp, or else.)
