DOOKIE!
MAH LIFE STORRRYY!

My name is Emily Lam. I am 15 years old, born December 17th, 1994.

I’m writing this just as a recap of my life…. I figure that if I get it all down, I’ll finally know what to do with what’s left of it.

I was born in a suburb of Detroit, a year and a few months after my older sister, Kaitlyn. We were born when mom and dad were still together, but they were a wrong match from the start. They didn’t have a chance in hell staying together… and I’m glad that I was too young to remember any of the arguments; one of which my dad threw a plate of steak at my mother. This also included a knife, and loud curse words.. Simply because she hadn’t cooked his steak precisely the way he had wanted it.

Well, that was a while ago. After their divorce, I think I was about 4 or 5... But I can’t remember hardly. We moved in with Lewie, or however you spell his name. all I remember about the move was being in the car ride and asking her, “where are we going?”

I didn’t; and still don’t; remember them ever even meeting. You know how that is, right? How some days you can remember so clearly, while others can be totally blank.

Lewie’s was a nice place. 20 vast acres of land and woods, and his little trailer, with two big cherry trees on both sides. Again; all I remember about actually meeting him is getting out of the car; it was fall I think; and saying hello to him while he was working on the lawn mower in front of the small, white house.

Ah, I do remember a lot of things that happened during the four years that him and mom were together, and the few after wards when us kids still visited him. Four years make someone grow on you. But we’ll get to that later.

During the time that the marriage was going to happen I think mom got pregnant with my new brother, Henry. Probably earlier than that though.. Because in the wedding pictures, she is pregnant with Grace.

The wedding has some memories for me. It was between the house and barn, which had just been built. On our property. We had the after party thing in the barn, with music, lights, and dancing. What do you call that? I can’t remember. There was a trail that went threw the whole yard, starting from a hill and separating the big barn with the fancier, pole- barn- esque building in which we ate. That’s were I had four or five bowls of really good macaroni and cheese, while talking to my Nana. I remember that well, it was dark, and mac n’ cheese was still my favorite thing in the world to eat.

Before the dancing and food, we had the ceremony in the home- made gigantic horse shoe- shaped garden framed with wood that Grandpa Park had built for them. It had cactuses and pretty flowers in it, and at each end there was wooden railing that served as the aisle. They walked down it, kissed, and then me, Kate, Matthew (our new cousin), and a few other kids went off into the woods to climb the trees. Me and Kate were still in our white flower girl dresses that soon after were ruined.

Well, that was the wedding.

So many things happed during those four years.

yes.. four years. four Christmases with lewies parents, four easters, four thanksgivings.. funny, now that i think about it, it seems like more than that now.

lewies parents never really excepted me and my sister. we weren't their blood. they thought alot of themselves, but really, they weren't that great. lewie's dad, chris, was a fat and bitter old man, who acted like he knew everything, and owned a logging company. the workers all were his sons.

oh, what a big shot he was...

anyway, i can barely remember any of it. i remember that durring the time, our "best friends" were some kids named mariah and richard.

well, let's just say that richard broke my arm, and locked me in a barn. and mariah, well she killed a kitten by drowning it in a pool.
i don't really like to talk about them.

well, durring the time that mom and lewie were married it was a pretty normal life- me and my sister did what kids our age did. we washed dishes, we watched tv, and we played alot. once we even got paid to peel bark off of some big logs.

and, lewie had a farm. so we would yousually have plenty of chores to keep us buy (unlike now). there were horses and cows to be fed, chickens and pigs to be attended to. a few years before the divorce, our cows escaped from the fence and we had to hire people whith arabians to find them. that was a pretty funny memory. xD

now, boss. boss was our horse, and our favorite one indeed. we baught him for 100 dollars (i dunno how much any of you know about hourses, but that is NOT a high price. horses, even ones without high- class, go for thousands.) off of people who hated and abused him.
they couldn't wait to get rid of him, and we were eager to take him off their hands.
he was headstrong and ornery; but my mom managed to tame him.
