took place in an urban waste land type place. cities clustered in the middle of stretches of waste land. All i really remember is that it was a father and daughter scrap team. size shifting had something to do with it as a mark of mental abilities or some such.

They ended up sheltering and accidentally hitching a ride with in the traveling mansion house of a powerful, mental teacher master, with the people he'd actually called to him.

This house is the thing i remember most. It was semi sentient and traveled from city to city through the desolate swampy muck Baba Yaga style. Only, instead of rising on chicken legs out in the woods, this one has a fold out ramp and is done in blue and silver, oriental style. it's mansion sized and raises above the muck on a sort of hover pad like thing, though it has many landing braces that unfold when it finds a likely hill or rise to settle on, and it can walk on these. it's docking hatch extends as far as it needs to from the house proper until it connects with the raised city docks.

That's about all i remember of that one but this is great stuff, i'm sure i can use it somewhere
