Time Warp
The year is… Rather, it was the year 2750; mankind had reached new heights in its technological development, basking in their own glory, foolishly believing they stood on top of the evolutionary food chain. Never once anticipating evolution to throw a curve ball through their egos. Humanities knowledge growing feverishly, it slowly began to unlock hidden cavities of the mind, revealing a whole new form of man. Scientists always theorized that humans only used a small fraction of the minds true potential, leaving them wondering what the remainder was used for; a discovery found first hand by a young man named Julian.
Julian always stood tall at the top of his classes, excelling in all subjects, he was pushed through all secondary school academics by the age of 13. As he developed, studying at the most prestigious of schools in the world, he had reached a level of intelligence far surpassing that of even the most genius IQ’s. Dropping out of all his colleges, out of nothing more than sheer boredom, Julian detached himself from society in order to seek out a more profound form of enlightenment.
Several years had passed since his disappearance; Julian now at the age of 19, had developed a miraculous change in his mental prowess. His mind had grown so strong, and so in tune with the nature, he had developed immense psychic abilities. He was soon able to read the minds and hear the thoughts of those around him, as though it were a book before his very eyes. The power of his brain waves were now prevailing enough to move objects, teleport short distances, and even control the passage of time; it was as though he had tapped into the universe’s fountain of knowledge, unlocking his minds true potential. Though he was still a child at heart, he could never have imagined being granted such a wondrous gift. Science however, could not come to terms with this truly remarkable evolutionary step.
Demanding answers, the government gave authority to the worlds leading scientists to capture and analyze the boy as necessary; their thirst for knowledge blinding them of the effects it may have on the boy. With intentions of experimentation and dissection against him, Julian mustered all the strength he could; escaping the current time period. Traveling through the halls of time he landed well back 750 years in the past. Julian now alone, knew the dangerous effects he might have on society. Fearing he might damage the future if he interacted with the cities populous, he went into hiding with the only family he would ever hope to know, Epoch: A small cat like creature, known only as a Cherub from his time period. She traveled with him through his days of seclusion in nature, never once leaving his side; Epoch was Julian’s only companion in this strange world.
Fate however conspired against him on one faithful day. As he scanned the rooftops of buildings in order to stay out of the public eye, he spotted a commotion in a nearby alleyway. Peering down at the horrific scene, a brutish man with a knife made a hovering advance to an innocent girl. Julian knowing he couldn’t interact with society without consequences, was forced to make a decision that could very well cost him his life.
