Based entirely on a real life situation of myself, we follow the Character Brandon (Yup that’s me) a young adult on the club scene celebrating his friend’s birthday. (Ya I'm sorry this "Opening” is so long; but it’s exactly how it happened! I didn't want to leave anything out. Enjoy. xd

A Night To Remember
After a few drinks, laughs and a word or two with the DJ, the clock was pushing 2:00am. He leaned against the bar table with his hand on his glass, keeping an eye on the girls of his group, carefully making sure they were safe from the piss drunk men looking for their weekly “Piece of meat”. He stood alone, guarding his friend’s drinks and bags. He wasn’t much of a dancer, and felt more comfortable watching form the sidelines. He cracked his neck, and tilted over to his side. Eyeing the DJ who was looking for his next song to mix. Brandon pulled out his cell from his back pocket, and slid open its keyboard. Quickly he typed in a text and passed the phone to the DJ. He looked at it and smiled, giving an assuring “thumbs up” as he faded in the song Brandon had requested in his text message.
He smiled and turned back to the dance floor, spotting his friends having a good time he went to take a sip of his drink once more, only to find that it had all but evaporated. The ice cubes rattled in the glass crying to be consumed as he brought the cup to his lips, a cube tumbled down to his mouth, quenching the remaining thirst he had with a cool satisfaction. As he put the cup down he spotted a dancer on stage. Her stage. She moved seductively, like a cat on the prowl marking her territory; she truly owned that stage. She knew it, every motion drew the men in closer as she moved along the stage, grinding up against the pole placed dead center.
He was truly captivated by her, but not in the same way everyone else was. They all seemed to stare at her as though she weren’t wearing cloths. Not that she was bundled up by any stretch the word. She wore a cropped white tank top, coupled with a pair of black short-shorts and a set of cutesy black and white heart patterned suspenders. Her hair hung down to her waist, flying with her as she swung her head around. Her skin was saturated with a light sweat that gleamed in the colored lights. The men howled as she danced. Suddenly a bouncer that had been positioned by the stage extended his hand to her, gently she took his hand as he helped her off her display. She moved her way through the crowed, and across the dance floor towards the DJ. The men seemed to drool, and turned their heads, staring at her as like a cheap whore.
She shouted over the pounding music to the DJ “What song is this?” but her question went unheard. Witnessing this, Brandon leaned over to her “Ya like? Song’s called Boom Shot Dis!” he tried to shout a little louder, noticing she wasn’t catching it all. She smirked and stepped over towards him, looking down at his feet that were stepping on the handles of a friend’s purse as not to be absconded with. Her gaze quickly moved up his body at his ripped jeans, black shirt and brown hair sprawled across his face. “Why are you standing here all by yourself Hun?” She questioned, with nothing less than a curious smile. Brandon chuckled a little embarrassed as a bit of a flush came across his cheeks. “Well I…” he stuttered “I’m not much of a dancer, so I’ve been pestering the DJ here instead.” She laughed almost surprised. Suddenly her expression changed, and an almost mischievous smile came across her faces. Her eyes squinted a little, with eyes gleaming she stomped her foot down. “Oh no no no, you’re dancing!” She shoved her thumb underneath his belt, and gave it a tug, trying to coax him to the dance floor. Brandon started to laugh, waving his hands in front of him. “As much as I’d love to, I’m watching my friend’s purse.” You could easily see her disappointment with the pouting lip she had put on. She let out a sigh but turned her head up and smiled reassuringly. She put her drink down beside him, and smirked as if to say, “Watch this”, whisking herself around, she moved back to the stage, hopping back up she turned to him again and began dancing. Never moving her gaze from him, this dance was his, and only his.
He couldn’t help but laugh at himself; he could only imagine what his friends would say if they heard his lame excuse; when out of the blue a strange individual shifted his way in beside him. Out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of the man, and that was all he needed to see, to know he was not to be trusted. Brandon was very aware of the man’s movements, as he continued to watch the dancer perform. Suddenly, in the swiftest and most casual motion Brandon captures the shot of the man beside him, whisking his hand over the dancers drink, as a small drop had landed in it. As fast as the drop sank in her glass, so to did his heart. His chest pounded hard as he watched the vodka in her glass slowly cease to ripple and a truly evil grin pass over the man’s face. The party seemed to slow as his mind tried to grasp what his eyes had witnessed. “He drugged her drink…” he thought to himself.
His mind went wild, trying to figure out what to do. He couldn’t grab the drink now! Who knows what the man might try if he so much as hinted that he knew what he had done. He thought to himself rapidly, when he realized the song was coming to and end, and the dancer would soon be returning. Brandon pulled out his cell phone and quickly sent a text to one of his friends, franticly telling her to tell the dancer to NOT come back to the bar, and grab a bouncer. He tried to stay calm, scanning the floor trying to spot his friend, but then, she appeared from the crowded dance floor at the stage’s edge right as she began to step off. She cupped her hand over her ear giving her the message. The dancers expression changed very quickly to that of confusion. She looked up at Brandon from across the room trying to find out what was going on. He simply gestured with a flick of his head to grab security. But as she spoke to one of the bouncers, and pointed towards the bar table, the rapist beside him quickly made his leave, turning and running towards the exit, only to be tackled into the wall by club security.
A single bouncer approached Brandon moments later, easily 6’-5” he towered over him, and asked, “What happened”. He had explained the whole situation, as the bouncer dumped the dancers drink, and went to join the rest of security that was detaining the man at the door. Brandon tilted his head over and let out a sigh of relief as his friend soon approached him. Before she could get a word in, Brandon cut her off “Can you just watch the stuff? I need some air.” He turned to the balcony and paused when he noticed the dancer looking for him. He closed his eyes with a bit of a grimace, and kept walking as the dancer continued her search, he had already made it outside. He removed his hat and hung his head over the edge of the balcony and looked up at the stars. “And they wonder why this isn’t my scene.” He whispered to himself, as the night air filled his lungs, unaware the dancer stood behind him at a true loss for words

In reality, the dancer had found me, and naturally wanted to know what happened. Simply I responded with “Trust me, you don’t want to know.” I didn’t want the drama, and I didn’t need the congratulations, nor was I looking to get into her pants. I told the bouncers on my way out to tell her the truth.
I can’t help but wonder however, what might have happened had I taken “The path not traveled” and told her what had happened instead of playing the strong silent type.
The story continues when the dancer finally finds me after being told by the bouncers what had happened, and what I had done. PM me if you would like to continue the tale as the dancer and explore a new reality to this very true story. whee
