Ha ha, today we've had quite a few announcements. Here goes my mini rant. ;3
On free GC,
Today the admins just released the possibility for users to answer questionnaires from third party sites to earn free Gaia cash. I haven't formed an opinion on this yet. The sites looked shady to me. Those are all of the things you're not supposed to click. And free credit reports? They lower your credit scores. e ____e; They're never worth the free item you get for filling them out.
Gaia said that the sponsors will be updated periodically, so hopefully the next update has options that don't look shady. People are already reporting that they've found malicious files on their computer after clicking on those links.. so... yeah... no.
It sounds like an awesome idea that's not worth the risks. ...I do hope Gaia gets the malicious links deleted and eventually adds some links that I'd be comfortable with clicking. I am glad that Gaia has opened up the option for users to be able to obtain free cash. Go Gaia. :}
Angelic Halo!
Today a raffle was announced. For every 99c spent this month, you get one entry into a raffle to win an original angelic halo. Nifty.
Many Gaians have said for years that they wish that the items from banned accounts would be placed back into circulation. This is an interesting move on Gaia's part. I hope more of these items will be given out in the future.
It was a smart move on Gaia's part to use an angelic halo from a banned account since people would have had a fit over creating a new one for the giveaway.
I'm shocked at the amount of raffle entries that people already had. Even though the contest was announced on the 15th, they're counting all cash spent since the beginning of this month. I've seen reports of people who already had: 20, 50, 66, 175. ...Someone spent a hundred and seventy-five dollars on Gaia in the last two weeks alone. Amazing. No wonder I feel so poor on this site compared to other people.
I really want to know whose account the halo belongs belonged to. Liiiiike, why was this person banned? *ninja* What kind of story will the winner inherit and not even know it?
And finally, a note on this month's MCs.
I live for angelic and demonic MCs. They are hands down my favorite kinds of MCs. I was attracted to the angelic MCs since I first joined Gaia. My goal was to have an angelic and golden avatar. Back in those days my idea was pretty original since there were so few gold items and I rarely saw anyone with that color scheme so don't give me that look. I lived for the DIs. o 3o Each month I'd hope that I'd be able to add the items to the dream avatar I was making. I'd jump in glee over angelic and solar items. I'm on a really random tangent > < anyway,
This month was a sad attempt at angelic vs. demonic. I'm not talking about the items themselves, just their names.
I can't give specific characteristics for what makes an angelic item angelic. Angelic items are traditionally light blue and often have something to do with angelic wings or halos. On a side note, solar MCs are traditionally angelic blue with a hint of gold. Even with this, some angelic items are predominantly gold like the angelic halo, angelic bracelets and angelic pendant. However, we've also had many angelic blue MCs that were never given the angelic moniker. Some examples include the pixie, winter witch, dreamer's dust and snow feather. The only thing that makes this month's item slightly angelic is the halo pose that's included. For that much, the prism MC has a halo pose, and not the angelic title. The announcement said that the angelic lace is a new item with the iconic feel of a classic. I disagree. It does not scream 2003 to me.
The demonic armor is the real shame. x _____x
While an argument could possibly made for the angelic lace to deserve the angelic title, there's no argument for the demonic armor. Demonic MCs have traditionally always been red and black. A black and purple item does not deserve the title just because it's released in June.
I was really looking forward to some angelic and demonic MCs this month. We did not get any. With that said, I do think they're decent items.
