Lost several family members to Moltres in the Triangle Island feuds. Grew up on the sandy shores of Fire Island, raised around boats and adept at fishing and gathering food in tropical and desert climate areas.
Went to the Academy to hone her skills to eventually challenge Moltres.
Charcoal knows that in a duel, it would be likely that she would perish against Moltres, but she doesn't care whether she lives or dies in that battle.
All she knows is that she will, eventually, fight the legendary, no matter what.
Her own life doesn't mean much to her, as she watched her family fall before she could even cry out when the calamity struck.
But perhaps a friend or two would help her out in her duel against Moltres... And teach her the value of herself, and the worth of friendship.

Name was originally 'Charcoal', but that is way too damn obvious considering she's a Flareon. >.> Carole sounds like Coral, and she grew up on the Triangle Islands (Watch Pokemon 2000, I think), so that fits nicely.
