Its probably going to just be bits of poetry and short shorties, and maybe a few strings of consciousness about how life is going here and there
Trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress
I sincerely hope that no one reading this has ever gone through something so dreadful that it left them traumatized or having to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Still, we know it happens. You never think it will be YOU that something happens to, but when it does, what choice do you have but to deal with it however you can?

Yes, I did my research. I’m not just doing a random journal about something I just heard of and wanted to ramble about - I know what I’m talking about, for more reasons than one. At first it started with a friend that had PTSD, and wanting to comfort them without knowing how, so I did research. But, sadly, I’m writing about this on a more personal level… because there was an event in my life that so scarred and terrified me that I myself now have PTSD…

Its horrible to have to go through anything once that hurt you so bad you can’t get over it… but its so much worse to keep reliving it over and over.

This is where its going to start getting more into facts, and less personal, even though I can attest to what medical sights have said and confirm them as true. Here are a couple facts about this disorder:

There are several types of symptoms. The first is Re-experiencing such as flashback, bad dreams, and/or frightening thoughts. The next kind is Avoidance symptoms such as staying away from places, events, or objects that are reminders of the experience, feeling emotionally numb, feeling strong guilt, depression, or worry, losing interest in activities that were enjoyable in the past, and/or having trouble remembering the dangerous event. The third kind is Hyperarousal symptoms such as being easily startled, feeling tense or “on edge”, and/or having difficulty sleeping, and/or having angry outbursts.

I didn’t attend on this being a medical journal or anything. I was just thinking about life and this is something I wanted to address… If you or someone you know went through something traumatic and is having problems with PTSD, please get help. It is treatable, though people vary in results.
