Dark out.
Clothes are mostly dry,
Same for bed.
Box is still empty, but Girl is more than full.

Her eyes open. The world is fuzzy, a light blue hue touches everything. Her thoughts are more broken. Everything is disconnected. She remembers the night before. What she can of it anyway. The walk, the rain, the door, then nothing.

Girl’s head buzzed. She stood. Too light, she though. Her weight was barely half what she recalled. She walked past the mirror. She was a mess, but that’s not what struck her. Her eyes were glowing. Everything appeared blue, but she had not guessed it was because of her eyes. Her skin had the blue radiating out from her pores. She touched the glass.

“Not me“, she thought. “Can’t be.”

“But it is.”

The voice was not hers. It was barely a voice. It was as if the words were just there in her mind.

Girl straightened. Her back shivered. Light yellow sparks trickled down the air around her. Her freshly blue eyes widened.

“What? How? This. Is not. Me. Something… something wrong. “

“Nothing wrong. You are me now.“

Girl did nothing. She stood and she watched the eyes in the mirror. She didn’t move. She hardly breathed. The voice went on.

“I am Box. Or was Box. Now I am you. We are lightning.” The eyes shimmered in the mirror. Yellow flecks passed through the blue as if excited.

“I don’t understand”, Girl said aloud. “I don’t… How?”

“You took Box in. Took me in. Box was lost for a long time. Now Box is empty and you are full”

“Why me?”

“Had to. I can not tell why.”

“How can we be lightning?”

“Like this.” Clouds gathered over head. Thunder rumbled in the distance. Flashes of white blue streaked the early morning sky. “It is you now. You and I are lighting. We bring light. We destroy. We come with the clouds and the rain. Sometimes without.”

Girl looked away from her eyes and focused on the rest of her. She was a deeper blue than before, lines of it where veins had once been. Her skin was cold to the touch where the lines did not run through. It was smoother, harder. She turned away from the mirror. The voice kept talking.

“Come. See what we can do.”

Girls stepped out of the damp clothes of the night before and into dry ones. She grabbed for white, for blue. On to the porch she went. Into the drizzle. Watching the clouds come closer, packing tighter, darker around her. She closed her eyes. Could feel the hum, the friction between those clouds. She sighed. A flash of white behind her eye lids.

“Good. Very good.” Said the Voice.

Rain kept falling.
Lightning continued to strike.
Girl learned how to feel the hum.
Voice stood by her every second,
Always encouraging, ever understanding.

The store remained dark, but the sky was a brilliant white.

The blood of fear and the loss of self...
The rain ate at everything around her. Her beauty and perfection was immediately swallowed in a flood from the sky. The heavy drops tamed her wild hair and drenched her dress. Her breath grew heavy and she could feel the fear unravel all over her face.

She didn’t understand what her feet were doing. They carried her quickly towards the small house she had seen the men enter. She glanced around looking for something to stop herself with, but everything went rushing by too quickly. She tried to scream, but found herself running even faster.

Everything whirled around her until her feet finally stopped in the middle of the muddy path. She had gained some control. She collapsed to the ground in tears and the world caved in around her on heavy rain.

Shouting shook her from herself and she looked up. Several men had rushed from the house and were coming towards her. Her tears stopped and electricity surged through her. She stood up and drew the sword at her side. It shimmered to life and its echo forced itself inside her head. Show them. Show them all.

A lightning bolt streaked across the sky and time slowed. She pulled the hair pin from her hair and threw it into the mud. She pushed the hair out of her face and stepped out of her shoes, preparing for the men. They slowly made their way closer through the wall of rain in front of her.

They approached with their weapons drawn and surrounded her. She glanced around until she spotted the fear in one of the men’s eyes. A smile crossed her lips and she felt something else take over her body.

She thrust the blade in her hands forward, inserting it into the man’s chest. He fell. She turned to another man who had watched her blade and slashed it across his face, opening his cheek. He fell. She turned to a third man and struck the his leg. The sword ripped into his calf. He fell. She turned to the final man who stood firm.

He thrust forward and she dodged his weapon. She struck his sword with her own and spun around him. She danced in the electric euphoria that filled the air as her blade met the man’s back. The blade shimmered and he fell.

The lightning vanished and everything rushed again. The men were screaming in pain as the rain beat against their wounds. Their blood washed from the blade. She lifted the sword to her messy hair and sliced it off, leaving a short, wet mop of hair on top her head. The blade found its way back into its scabbard.

She spotted more men running from the house in front of her, but instead of coming to her they were rushing off into the woods beyond the house. She quickly followed, her feet thundering against the mud. She made her way through, not halting even when her dress tore against the under brush. Even the fingers of her gloves wore away against the thick foliage around her, leaving her fingers exposed and bloody.

When she finally made her way into a clearing, the men were scattered, looking for her. When one spotted her, he shouted and they gathered in the center. She made her final push through the brush and stood in front of them. The voice came again. Show them. Show them who you are. Show them who we are. Show them.

She drew the blade again and it hungered for more. She glanced around at the nearly identical men in damaged, wet guard uniforms. Her smile had faded as she watched herself move closer. Her voice thundered at the men, “Who killed my husband and sons? Who took my life? Who will die first?”

The blade called again with even more fervor. Show them. Show them their end.

The shell fell away into a pile of dust at her feet, forgotten and ignored. It was no longer important. It was lifeless and pointless. What remained in her hands was the new focus of her attention.

A creature snuggled up to her, it's blood red eyes half closed as she eyed it curiously. So this was what she had given birth to? She wasn't sure why she kept thinking this way. No, she hadn't actually given birth; it had technically just fallen into her hands.

It could have fallen into anyone's hands. Yet somehow she felt like it couldn't have fallen to anyone else. It had been meant for her, made for her, made by her. The creature clicked its beak, as if to confirm her thoughts. Yes, he was hers and only hers.

User Image

He remained comfortable in her hands as the dust that had puffed out of the shell collected at her feet. It turned into a smog that began to consume her body. At the same time the "tattoo" continued to spread around her body. It covered one of her eyes and this time she could feel it creep about on her body.

Her mouth opened, slightly startled. She liked this, she was enjoying this. She took her hat off, disrobed out of some of her more conventional clothes, and allowed her hair to fall back down. It was a more vivid red now.

She felt the wings on her back now. She flapped them, tested them. They were growing as well. The fog ran up her body, facilitating the changes, it braided her hair behind her back, it dyed her bangs black, it cleared her skin of blemishes...it hovered above her head as she took in all these changes.

A smile began to form on her lips as her child clicked his beak in approval. A voice echoed in her head, she knew it was the voice of the child in her arms; "A goddess begins to be born..."

Ratt Scabies
(Last one to be judged)

The rest of spring passes.
School lets out.
Summer passes with little changes, though Scott's face is clearer than ever, and his hair is even longer now.

User Image

He begins his senior year of high school, and in the middle of Calculus a couple of days into school (he takes the rose to school with him, but keeps it safely tucked in his locker, ignoring the few that make fun of him for it), it hits him, what he could do finally to get them to notice him, ALL of them. He smiles and works diligently at his work, saying nothing...

Later that night, when the school was abandoned with the exception of a few janitors, one of the said janitors was sweeping the hallways, glancing into the classrooms making sure everything was okay. And it was, until he reached room 217.

It was a jungle in there, and not in the sense you'd expect in a school; There were literally trees and grass and...plants. Everywhere.

User ImageUser Image

Scott looks up from his work once he notices the janitor, and smiles, seemingly more than he ever has. "Do you...like it?" he asks, and the janitor isn't sure, but he thinks he sees a gleam of insanity in the young man's eyes.

Scott is arrested later that night.

User Image

Even though they really have no evidence on which to hold him besides being somewhere when he shouldn't (hell, they can't even get him on breaking and entering; they looked around but couldn't find any evidence of him doing so, besides the fact that he was in the building), he'd kept in a cell, alone from the rest of the so-called juvenile offenders. Besides, it's not like HE was the one that grew all that foliage in that classroom...he was just a kid, after all...

Meanwhile, Scott was sitting in his cell, wondering what he'd done wrong. He'd used his powers for 'good', what the hell else was he supposed to do? With a sigh, he stands; he won't let this go unpunished.

One of his arresting officers comes to open the door to the cell in order to take Scott out for more questioning...and freezes at what he sees.

User ImageUser Image

There's a huge hole in the wall, and roses. Everywhere. Not THE rose, of course. But no sign of Scott.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Eventually, Scott rests. He's run a long way, carrying the rose all the way. Eventually, he falls to his knees by a tree on a rocky outcrop, eyes brimming with tears. He's still wearing the prison jumpsuit, though it's a good deal more tattered now. He leans back against the rock, chest heaving with sobs, and, in a last, desperate attempt to do something right, he lets the rose fall from his hand. Immediately, it sends out thorny tendrils that start enveloping him, wrapping themselves in his hair, around his limbs...and he lets them.

He'll get his revenge.
He'll show them.
They'll see.

*Note! Please judge the first avatar, her "God" persona*

Madison didn’t know where she was. It seemed as if she was floating away from her body. It was weird to look upon herself lying on the floor like that, sprawled out with absolutely no dignity whatsoever. Kimi had been right- although the rest of the classroom was blazing, and all the students had left the room, Maddie herself had not caught aflame.

She drifted up evermore. She didn’t know where she was going. The circlet around her head seemed to have split into three distinct sections, each pulling her up. They were warm, hot, but comforting nonetheless. Although she couldn’t actually see herself, she knew without a doubt that she had turned into something far more than a mere mortal. Her entire persona had changed. This was who she was inside.

User Image

Madison closed her eyes as her ethereal form continued up, up, far into outer space, until she finally opened her eyes to the glaring brightness of the sun.

“What am I doing here?” She finally thought to ask, realizing the strangeness of what was happening. The peace she had felt was going away thread by thread, until she was about to scream in confusion and terror.

Peace, my child, a loud, comforting voice said inside her mind. It seemed motherly, and Madison didn’t know where it was coming from. Everything will be revealed in the end. I am the sun spirit; I have given you these powers. Now go home, your parents are worried. They will all think it was a miracle. You have powers, child. Use them well.

Madison opened her mouth to ask a question, when she blinked. She was back in the science classroom, her body lying on the floor. Something had changed. What was it? Although she had not kept the clothes she had worn as she traveled to the sun, and was in fact still in her apron, her hair had remained the same orange color. And as she looked into a shard of broken glass, she saw her eyes had turned to a deep orange, the same color as the flames around her.

As the fire continued burning, never ceasing, she realized what needed to be done. Suddenly there was a click in her brain, as if someone had thrown a switch illuminating the powers she never knew she had.

She sucked in air, and as she did so the flames died down, until all that was left were the scorches on the brick walls. As soon as the flames were gone, she started laughing hysterically. She was the controller of powers. She could control the world. She could take everything for herself. No one could stop her.

This is a fictional story…
of four friends…
chosen to become gods…
grow together and have their lives changed…
to find out what happens…
when one turns into a god…
and learns to accept it…
The God’s Life: Water.

“Master your desires are our own… We will sacrifice ourselves so those who you care for most can be with you when you transform into your godlike state. So this is our farewell.”

Mark woke confused about the dream he just had. He stood when he say that he no longer was in his sleep clothes but some kind of armor. “What the hell?” he said trying to remove the armor, but it wouldn’t budge. A loud knocking was at his door he looked at himself and hurried and but some clothes on and tried again to remove the armor but still it didn't budge. He hurried and answered the door to be greeted by what he thought were complete strangers.

“What the **** did you do to us!!!!” Joey yelled barging in grabbing Mark by his armor and shaking him like a rag doll. James and Tamika entered in behind him just as concerned. Mark was confused; he didn’t know what was going on or how his friends changed this drastically.
“I, I don’t know what is going on.” He grabbed Joey’s arms to keep balance and also to lessen the power of his shakes. “Let go of me!”

Tamika and James looked at the two; Tamika spoke with a calm voice “Let him go Joey.” She stepped forward. “It is obvious you’re turning into a god Mark, but what is going on with us? Why have we changed so drastically?”

“Master your desires are our own… We will sacrifice ourselves so those who you care for most can be with you when you transform into your godlike state. So this is our farewell.”

Mark remembered that one saying from his dream. His familiars, did they really sacrifice themselves so his friends could be with him? “I think I have the answer,” he said as the other three looked at him waiting patiently for him to continue, “My familiars the fish I told you about, I think they sacrificed themselves so you can be by my side when I turn into a god. I think that the three of you are now my familiars. You three must represent a certain piece of my whole. Joey you seem to be the toughest of the group and from the way you look, you look like the whole embodiment of the see. I think you are the representation of power. James, you’re the quietest of our group, but you always are first in everything new. I feel like you’re the representation of courage, especially since you are dressed as a warrior. Tamika, you’re the calmest of us, and usually the voice of reason. You are also the one we come for advice you represent wisdom. All three of you are a part of me, and I you. Together we are a whole.”

All three of Mark’s friends mouths were gaped, Mark looked at them with a unsure smile and looked away. Tamika was the first to speak “So we are all now connected? I figured something like this would happen. I felt different ever since the night of the banquet.” She smiled and touched Mark’s armor and with that Mark’s skin began to change crystallizing into ice. Joey and James stood in awe. Mark then smiled. He saw fish spirits float around his friends. They saw them as well they all nodded in agreement.

It was a silent vow that they all would make the best of this newfound ability and do their best to work together and grow becoming strong as singly and even stronger together.
