Follow The Mystery






“Mutti! Shense was mean to me!” Chihior cried before bursting into Moonlight's study. “Mutti?” She asked, looking around the room. “Huh. She is usually in here...Mutti!” Chihiro called while running from the study into her mother's room. “She is not in here either..” She said with a frown. Her eyes widen suddenly. “Marker board!” Chihiro runs downstairs. “Let's see if she left a note.” She stopped at the bottom of the stairs, glaring over at the front door. “You're still here?”

Shense, leaning against the wall, looked up from his thoughts and glanced over towards Chihiro. “ I need to speak to your Mother about you being allowed to torture me. Did you find her yet?”

Chihiro rolled her eyes. “No.” she scowled. “I was just about to check the marker board for a note until I saw an idiotic mongrel next to my front door.”

“There is no note.” a voice intercepted before Shense could say anything back to Chihiro. The voice's body came to view.

“Oh no..” Chihio back away from the figure. “Mutti didn't send you to watch me did she Knight?”

Knight shook his head and chuckled at Chihiro's reaction. “No. I have not seen your Mother myself.”

“Liar.” Chihiro glared. “Where is Mutti and what have you done with her?”

“I didn't do anything. I haven't even seen her for the past few days!”

“Liar.”

“I am not lying!”

“Yes you aer. Where's my Mutti?”

“I don't know!”

“Liar.”


Shense shook his head, leaving the two to argue as he went searching for Moonlight himself. Surely a mother wouldn't just disappear without leaving some notice of where she went for her child to find. He shook his head again. Moonlight wasn't someone to just vanish. Or at least, he hoped she wasn't.

First room he checked; the library. There didn't seem to be any sense of life in this room, then again, it was an oversized library for just one person. Shense walked between the rows of book. All of the shelves seemed to be crowded. Not one empty space visible among the books. “Someone enjoys their reading...” Shense chuckled lowly to himself. He turned his eyes from the selves to what laid ahead of him. “Dah...Do these shelves never end?!” He yelled in frustration. His eyes caught the answer. A door made visible by dim light at the end of what seemed a never-ending tunnel of books. Shense sighed with relief. “Ahh...The end of the tunnel..Though I wonder...Why a door here..?” he verbalized his thoughts as he walked towards the door. Slowly, he pushed it open. The hallway he was just in appeared before entering the library appeared before him. “How did...but I didn't..I was just..” Shense rested his face in his hands. “This is confusing..” 'Just like her..' he thought.

A small meow interrupted Shense's thoughts. He looked around the hall until his eyes fell upon a black and white cat with bright blue eyes sitting on a shelf with a vase of white lilies across from him. “Why hello there..” Shense grinned.

The cat jumped from the shelf and walked over to Shense, meowing again as he rubbed against Shense's leg.

Shense knealed down and petted the cat. “Such a beauty...Ow!” He yelled, putting his hand back after being bit. “Heh...Mean little-hm?” Shense looked down at the cat who was now tugging at the leg of his pants. “You want to show me something kitty?”

The cat nodded, then purred and walked down the hall.

Shense followed after him, nearly tripping over him when he suddenly sat down. “A little warning before you stopped would of...been...What room is this?” Shense asked in a quiet voice. The door showed no sign of being able to be opened. He looked down at the cat. “And how exactly am I suppose to get in there?”

The cat looked at Shense as if the answer was obvious. He shook his head before standing. The cat walked through the door as if he was a ghost.

“Well how was I suppose to know that?” Shense muttered as he followed the cat through the door.

The temperature suddenly dropped. A chill ran through him, making his hair stand on ends. Where had this cat taken him? As happy as Moonlight always seemed to be, she couldn't have a room like this..The room began to haze in his sight., the air thickened, everything around him seem to disappear. Shense held his hands tightly over his nose. The smell of this strange lace thickened with the scent of a vast amount of rotting blood. He dropped to one knee, the scent causing him to become dizzy. Shense looked over at the cat. The cat sat perfectly content in what seemed to be mid air as he purred. A faint glow cam from the cat's neck. The cat walked over to Shense and pawed at his pocket. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a glowing stone.

Everything began to clear. The scent disappeared into a fresh, floral scent. The mist faded to black. His sight came back to him. Shense stood and gazed around the room. “Where am I...?”

The cat meowed, setting a black leather bound journal with gold pages in front of Shense.

Shense leaned over and picked up the journal, examining it. “What is this?” Curiosity filled his voice and eyes as he started to open the journal. He dropped it and hissed as he covered his eyes, blinded by light.

“What are you doing in Mutti's room?” Chihiro asked in a demanding voice. “You are not allowed in here. No one is.” Her eyes spotted the cat. “Kira. Did you lead him in here? Mutti wouldn't like- - Ah!!” Chihiro screamed, stumbling backwards. “Snake! Get it away!”

A black snake slithered towards Chihiro. It's colors changing slowly. The snake opened its mouth wide meaning to swallow her whole until...
