My Personal Curse
There is only one person to whom I wish to expose myself so fully, and in truth I am here only because I do not wish for them to see me as such. If you are the one I am so blessedly possessed by, welcome. To all others,... Please be gentle.
Someone very very dear to me lost a good friend today. I have only just heard about it, and I thought that perhaps I would try to put my mind at rest by rationalizing it all in verse. Its a cheap attempt, but I have done so with some mild bit of success and peace of mind. Here's the result... And please keep the lost soul in mind. It is always a very inhuman thing when a soul is taken before their time.

LITTLE LAMB

Lord, be with the lost and bleeding lamb
That which has strayed from beside your crook
And which has fallen from the crest of its path
And which has become ensnared in the high brush of despair
Forgive the solemn errors that taint its wool to black
And protect it from the snakes and wolves of this world
Go with this fallen lamb in times when day grows thin
And carry back its tarnished soul when its night has turned from life into the void

Bitter world, confess in this your sins
Those which were cast unto the lamb like stones
And lay your stones and knives aside, you thieves of mind and soul
Patch back the hearts of those who had come to guide you
Cross not the bridge of hatred lest our shepard be without his crook for you
And live not in me, the fear of death’s long reach

We are without ourselves for how to speak
But carry on, ye arms which console our flock of wandering souls
For tonight your arms do hold our bleeding kin
Your sunken eyes do hold her bleating voice no more
And you do lay before our eyes the soul
Who’s, tarnished black as night and tar, soft wool still seeps a bitter red
Had she so gravely sinned that now she lay here dead?
Did you not, our man of cloak and staff, care enough so that she might live?
We cry and join the earth in all our sorrows

But lay still, you say
For this is how we end
We the lost and broken
Bleeding, hurt
Are left unspoken
Tiny little specks on pastures green and fresh, you say
This is how we end
In souls still tarnished black as tar and ashes

But rise up and sing, you say
And wash her wool with I
And so we do until she is the color of the sky
Pure white
Like angel’s wings of light
But still she lays

We loved her, we cry
You never stopped, you say
We need her, we scream
You have her in your heart
We are all scared
We huddle close and cry
But she is safer still tonight
You say
For she is now with I

And so we rest
Uneasy, still grieving
And with you, our shepard’s staff
Until the pain might fade
Until we might begin to understand
Until we are at peace and total calm

And you never move an inch
You hold that soiled sheep into your rising breast
You sit amongst our flock and cry
But we can still not rest

Oh lord, please be with her soul
And carry her with you
Be with all of those who stray as I so often do
And be with the lamb who would face the wolves, my host
For he is the one who’d been like you the most
Be he dead or quick in heart and brest
The one of us who saw and heard you best
He who stood at her side
Even then as thorns did steal her life

The lamb with the shepard’s eye

But still we cannot rest

You sing to us and we cry
You reach out to us and we hide
You whisper joys in us
And all we say is why
And all the love we seek to find
You are an infinite supply
Thank our lucky, tarnished souls
You will never say good bye
All you’ll ever do to us
Is hold her form and cry
Mourning for the one who’s lost
Just the same as I
