Cross sat on a bench, smoking a cigarette as the wind rustled some dried up leaves off the ground. Feet stepping across the cobblestone could be heard for quite a ways. On a quiet night like this one, it could be heard across all of Durem.
A group of four people rounded a corner, talking amongst themselves. Pale of skin, they were talking business. Their business was breakfast, lunch, and especially now, dinner.
Cross moved himself up and started walking, ahead of the pack, but along the path they had set themselves on.
He could hear their plans. Make out their usual hotspots. If any survived this night, they wouldn't for long. He turned a corner, went on his way. The footsteps of his prey had moved on. Now that he knew what he wanted, it was time to strike. Cross jumped onto the nearby wall and climbed atop a lightpost jutting from the wall. Jumping from lightpost to lightpost he eventually reached a low hanging roof onto which he vaulted.
From there he ran his way to where the bloodsuckers had made their way to. Remembering their previous path and how long he had waited before starting the hunt, he could estimate their general position. Leaping from one building to the other across a street, Cross made some good lead time. His knee scrapped a little however, as it had hit the lip of the roof during the leap.
As he ran, across the building, he could hear their voices once more. He had them now. Pulling a gas grenade from his cloak, he lobbed it off the building after pulling the pin. They barely had a chance to exclaim their surprise before it burst, choking them with it's smell, it's burning touch.
Cross pulled two stakes from his belt across his chest and leapt, holding his breath as he flew down upon two of them.Their bodies turned to ash as he fell, forcing him to roll forward and impale the one in front of him with his both his weapons.
Not dead yet, huh? Cross pulled the stakes up along the body a little, then pushed forward into the dusty ash of his foe.
He turned to the last one. This one ran from the garlic gas the canister had expelled. Cross grabbed the grenade and walked out of the cloud.
"Don't think you can hide from me you son of a b***h."
