!!! WARNING SPOILERS !!!
so this will be a somewhat different entry as i will discuss the movie i saw.
iron man 2
now i will say this in advance. this is not a bad movie. as far as movies go this one was pretty good. but that doesnt mean its perfect. so lets start this thing shall we.
now we start the movie of by showing a man who is near death. wow the first seconds you show me are of a man i dont know with a condition and background i dont know and then proceed to kill him. youve already lost me movie.
but it turns out his son (i think) is there. and after seeing some drawings of stark industries he starts building his own armor (out of rage?). and just like that mind you. no explanation given he just whips the thing up in a matter of wat seems to be hours. tony stark isnt that smart then is he.
now we cut to tony stark opening the stark expo. after being a royal a-hole he checks some device which apparently checks his blood toxicity. yes the paladium or polonium or whatever is in fact slowly killing him.
now from here on out i dont really remember the whole movie im afraid but there are some things that anoy me limitlessly. for starters why is tony stark such an a-hole. and i dont mean a bit rude or anything no really obnoxious and generaly stupid. now i havent read any of the comics and im told that the character is just that way but still, how anyone is still around this guy is a complete mystery to me.
now the villain of the story is quite good and has some interesting moments but even he falls prey to the sometimes stupid as hell plot. for instance, he wants tony stark to suffer and die slowly so he can avenge his father/family/country or something. okay i get that but this guy is taking an awfully long time to kill him. tony stark is literally on the ground unable to move. the bad guy a few foot away. and yet he just waits long enough for stark to get away.
or how about a bit after that when stark is given his iron man briefcase (yea he has a suit small enough to make it into a briefcase) he gets the thing and starts to transform very slowly into iron man. all the while the villain is inches away from him just waiting for him to complete his transformation.
small tip here guys but when someone is busy doing that kind of stuff you could ofcourse o i dont know KILL HIM. seriously what is it with that.
now i cant say this enough but tony stark is all around not likeable. everytime something bad happens i just cant feel sorry for him. hell he brought it upon himself. he just cant seem to act like a decent gentleman just once.
now there are of course enough good parts in the movie. for example the fight scenes are epic. it does tend to be a bit blurry because of all the light and speed at which this happens but still its pretty damn good. the final fight especcially is really damn good.
graphics wise this movie is good. but how about the plot.
well this is were i have to credit it. in the first movie we didnt see a lot of iron man up until the very last. now we get to see more action and iron man. they spread things out a bit so you dont go too long without action. still the first part of the movie is mainly exposition and the last part more of a fighting part. for future movies is sugest spreading that out a bit.
now for this movie they did switch out some of the characters for new ones. most notabaly (did i type that correct) stark's best friend. (forgot his name). now i must say that this guy play's the role pretty good and i kind of like it that way.
another man is nick fury himself. there could not have been a better casting of this guy. when you see him on screen you just say "now thats nick fury". im all for that. he's cool looking and plays his part really damn good.
now for the final verdict.
i would have to say that although it has some flaws in it, its still really enjoyable. i came to this movie expecting a kind of transformers 2 disaster and was pleasantly suprised. if you where doubting to see this movie, it has my thumbs up. the story is good the graphics are good and all around a good movie.
