Personality and Quirks:

Zetiel isn’t the nicest being around. The majority of the time, she sports an air of indifference and superiority. In addition, she adopts a business-like tone and piercing stare when bargaining with one’s soul. Conversing with her can be a chore, as she tends to put others down in a show of snobbery. She rarely smiles genuinely, settling on giving others a condescending or “devilish” grin. While she does seem to be rather hard to interact with, she’ll temper her attitude toward those who pledge loyalty and devotion, or those who have a charming, polite, and witty personality. Once under her favor (though she prefers to call it mutual understanding), she’ll show a side of her that is rather pleasant, if not mischievous and playful. When it comes down to it, respect is the name of the game.

The 3rd Rank Devil dislikes getting her hands dirty and will manipulate others into doing her bidding; by any means necessary. The few times she does come to someone’s aid, or takes care of a problem herself, is when the situation is deemed hopeless. Her infinite power is held under contract on the mortal plane, however, and it annoys her greatly. She balances this out by giving her powers to others (temporarily, of course) on a whim and watching the ensuing destruction with pleasure.

A notably quirk of hers is her obsessive need to collect as many powerful souls as she can. In a way, her need is fueled by her utter loathing of the 1st Rank Devil, Cassandra. Another, if ever picked up by those around her, is her addiction to the waves of the desired souls. It acts as a form of drug to her (almost as if she’s drunk), though she attempts to mask the effect.

*Note: Do NOT give her human food. The extensive number of different tastes is like catnip.

Brief History:

Zetiel was born to Vexx and Marius, a pair of Devils on the lower end of the Soul-Collectors society. Growing up, Zetiel was forced to adopt a hard and cold personality in order to keep up with those considered superior to her. She was teased for her status, especially so by Cassandra, a devilish child born of high station. Filled with competitive determination, Zetiel was able to rise up quickly in rank as she approached her adolescent years. Cruelly, she left her parents behind, forgetting about them and focusing on her future.

Only once did she ever step back from her ambition. This is when she met with Izaiah, a fair and compassionate male who was approximately five hundred years her senior. She became enamored with him and the way he handled his weapon. His soul collection was extensive and impressive. Her pursuit of him became her only goal. However, due to the upcoming war, he rejected her advances, wrinkling his nose at her priorities and way of thinking. She was devastated and took her misery and anger out on the angelic warriors. She kept her fondness for him hidden away, once more falling back on the cold being she was before.

Her work and cold mentality during the war became famous amongst her peers, sky-rocketing her popularity and feeding her status. With each soul collected and power consumption, she crawled up the ranks. Awaiting her turn for a chance at the Elders’ positions was a slow process. Assassination, corruption, and death were far and few in between. Yet within a few thousand years, she, along with Cassandra and Izaiah, was able to secure a seat. Much to her displeasure, Cassandra was appointed 1st Rank while she was a subordinate at 3rd Rank. Zetiel didn’t allow this to get to her, content on rebelling and causing trouble for the exasperated and hateful female.

Her rank allows her the flexibility that 1st and 2nd Rank lack. Though she does have to attend to the affairs concerning her people, she is given enough freedom to satiate her soul-driven needs. When she’s not filing paperwork or overseeing projects, she’s wandering about on collection runs. For this, she mainly stays within her realm, but will come to the mortal plane at times in search of powerful souls.

Weapons:

Lucifer’s Collection: Pike- A demon artifact that holds great power. Zetiel carried this weapon with her when she fought against the Angels back before human civilization began. It exudes an aura that absorbs and cancels forms of fear and intimidation. In turn, that same aura puts out its own signature to heighten fear in others and increases intimidation on her part. The blade never dulls and is light weight.

Abilites

Zetiel’s abilities are vast and powerful. She has the power to bend, change, and annihilate objects/places/people at will. She can augment others to heights of power they could only imagine. With a snap of her fingers, she can lay waste to all around her. However, due to treaties between the Holy Ones and her species, she is unable to utilize these powers on the mortal plane. Certain circumstances, such as the releasing of Samael, could temper the strict rules of the treaties for the duration of the event, allowing Zetiel (or other devils involved) to help the mortals without directing interfering.

Being what she is, she possesses the power to take souls from people’s bodies. Due to Izaiah’s influence during her younger years, she teeters on the edge of fairness and offers a “wish” in exchange for the soul. Zetiel also offers another option, if the person is stubborn in handing over said soul, called Soul Tapping. Instead of collecting the whole soul, she’ll just copy the desired power in exchange for a limited copy of her own.
