"Down the road and up the river, that's where your friend lies in a deep sleep," vocalized the mysterious voice to me in my dreams. "Oh, great is this going to be like Snow White or something? The kids only eight," I argued. "Or something," was all the voice said. It began shaking with laughter, a demonic sound if you asked me, there was something else underlying it. A beep? A beep really? What kind of a dream was this? Oh, nevermind. I opened my eyes to half mast, then knocked the alarm off the table. Strangely, I didn't hear a thud. I finished opening my eyes only to have them covered up by a pillow. Who the hecks would be assaulting me at this time of day? "Wake up!" a high-pitched, feminine voice invaded my ears. "Eh? What do you want? I'm awake already, geez!" I replied groggily. "Guess what?" she asked. I removed the pillow from my eyes and saw a blur dashing in the air from wall to wall. I couldn't quite make it out, so I rubbed at my sleep-encrusted eyes furiously while thinking, "What if we're under attack?" When I finished rubbing, and my line of vision cleared I saw a magnificent sight. It was my little Haven, she had gotten her wings. Well, the thing about being a demon is that when you get your wings it means you've become an adult. You either get your wings when you turn of age i.e. 18, or you surpass one of the higher ups (or should I say lower-downs?) in hell. Haven must have improved her intelligence enough to gain her wings then and surpassed one of the higher ups. Lucky for us, that meant when it came to fighting the SOB we would have the upper hand, but something didn't fit right with me about Haven. I looked more closely at her. Haven was naturally an angelic being even though she was a demon. She had fair blonde hair and a petite body. Her nail were small, but could elongate if needed. She had perfectly straight white teeth except for four small canines that underlyed four of her fake teeth. She liked to stretch them out on Halloween just for the kicks. She had one blue eye and one red eye just like her sister Katana. Her right was blue and her left was red. At first I thought she would get teased a lot at school, but quite the contrary happened. I don't know what Haven did to the student body, but she doesn't seem to want to talk about. As soon as she enrolled grades sky-rocketed and classes became more advanced to better educate the students. The crime rate in the city nearby lowered drastically as well, and I'm certain it had something to do with Haven, but I let bygones be bygones, and stopped bugging her about it.
