With Liese beside me I walked out of our house, through our massive garden and stopped at the gate. 'I can't go through here, everyone can see me!' I hissed.
Liese didn't say anything, instead she walked over to a more deserted part of the garden that was overgrown with bushes. I quietly followed her while looking around.
'Since when does this place exist?' I asked her without thinking.
'For hundreds of years, Sis! It's just that everyone, except me of course, avoids this place like the plague.'
I sat down on a big rock and looked at her.
'But thanks to that, no one will notice you!' She pushed away some think branches and a few thorny bushes and showed what was behind it; a part of the fence that had a hole big enough for a small person to crawl through. 'There you go, make sure you're back in four hours!'
I nodded and crawled trough the hole. 'Good luck!' She said and pushed the branches and bushes back in place before she left.
'Great...I'm alone.' I murmured to myself and stood up.
While I was walking I thought that we should've put more detail into our plan as I had really no idea where I should go. A change of clothes would've been pretty helpful too, just look at me and try to say that I don't look very suspicious.
'Hey lil' missy, are ya lost or somethin'?'
I slowly turned around and saw a tall tanned man with black messy shoulder-length hair who was probably in his late twenties, giving me a smug smile. I wasn't really aware that this could be bad news so I just gave him a sweet smile and answered him politely. 'No sir, thank you for asking.' and with a nod of my head I continued walking. I didn't make it very far as the man grabbed my wrist and held it in an iron grip.
'Sir, could you please release me?' I asked just as polite as before and gave him my sweetest smile. All I got in return was the same smug smile as before that sent shivers up my spine. 'Why don't ya come with me, sweetheart?'
I slowly shook my head. 'I'd rather not, I have a very important appointment and it would be very inappropriate if I would not arrive on time.' I didn't immediately get a response, maybe he didn't hear me. 'Would you like me to repeat that?'
He quickly shook his head, almost laughing I could tell. 'No girl, I heard ya. Gotta say, pretty big words comin' from such a small girl.' I felt my face heat up a little bit. 'I'm not a little girl, now release me, you redneck!' The second I finished my sentence the palm of his hand roughly collided with my cheek. 'Don't call me a freakin' redneck, b***h!'
I bit my lip, telling myself not to cry. 'I am sorry sir! I did not mean to-!' I didn't get to finish my sentence as his palm clasped over my mouth. 'Just shut up girl.' I tried to scream but it was muffled by his hand. 'Hey, you!'
I lifted my head so I could see the person that was running up to us.
'Dave, let her go.'
The man who was apparently named Dave let me go and stood up. 'Ya really suck the fun out of everything, don't ya Kyle?' the man named Kyle laughed softly before turning to me. 'You'd better go kiddo.'
I nodded and quickly scrambled away, back to my house. I know I promised my sister to stay away for four hours but I just couldn't bring myself to stay here, I was attacked a few minutes ago for god's sake!
It took a while but I managed to find the broken part of the fence and crawl to the other side with only a few scratches from the thorny bushes. I quickly pushed the bushes back in place and ran as hard as I could to my room.
Somewhere along my way I bumped into my sister.
'Luna! Why are you back so soon? I told you to not come back for four hours!'
I was breathing quite heavily what made my sentence a bit harder to understand. 'Sorry Liese, I...I just couldn't do it.'
She nodded knowingly. 'I Guess it's my fault too, I shouldn't have left you there alone.' She grabbed my hand and tugged me towards my room. 'You look terrible by the way!' She exclaimed. 'What happened?'
I stopped walking and looked at her. She looked really concerned. 'Not a lot, I just tripped, that's why my dress is ripped.' We continued walking until we heard my dad's high pitched scream coming from the end of the hall. 'Luna, what in the world has happened to you?! You look awful!'
Liese gave him a disapproving look. 'You don't say that to a lady, dad.'
'But it's true!' He shouted. 'Just look at her!'
I sighed and grabbed my dad's hand to get his attention. 'I'm fine dad, I tripped, that's all.' I reassured him.
He nodded and pushed me into my room.
'What are you doing?'
He walked over to my dresser and pulled out an almost as beautiful dress as the one I was wearing, before it got ripped up of course. 'Put it on baby.' He handed me the dress and I placed next to me on the bed. 'I'm not your baby, dad.' I said while taking off my dress, I didn't really mind changing in front of him.
'Of course you are and you'll always be.'
I sighed loudly and put on the dress he gave me. I took a slight glance in the mirror before turning back to my father. 'How do I look?'
He grinned at me and whistled loudly. 'Absolutely stunning baby.'
'I told you I'm not your baby and stop saying stunning!'
His grin only grew wider. 'Why don't you make me?...baby.'
I growled in frustration and stomped out of my room. I couldn't believe him! He really had to be the most annoying person in the whole house!
My sister noticed my anger and walked up to me, laughing of course. 'Lighten up Luna, you're acting like an old lady!' Instead of listening I just pushed her away and made my way down the stairs, into the living room.
'Luna, sweetie, where were you? Your father and I were so worried about you!'
I sat down next to my mother and gave her a reassuring look. 'I was in the garden mom, nothing happened.'
She gave an relieved sigh and her concerned expression made place for the sweetest smile ever that only my mother could give.
'Weren't my uncle and aunt supposed to be here already?' I asked after a moment of silence.
'Oh about that, your uncle called, he said that he didn't feel all to well so they're coming tomorrow.'
I twitched, literally. That meant that I actually got harassed by a freak for nothing. That's worth twitching right? 'I don't think I feel very well either…I'm going to bed.' I slowly stood up and began walking to my room.
'Sleep well, darling!' my mother called after me.
The second I stepped into my room I let myself fall on top of my bed. 'Stupid uncle…' I murmured before falling asleep.
