the naval ship was gaining, and the gull was going full speed. well, almost full speed. capt. deep demanded that the crew get below deck and row. the oars eased their way out of the small ports on the side. they were moving faster indeed, but did the sails just get fuller on the naval ship? was the wind dying down while their sails were out as far as they could go? that might slow them down. she ground her teeth together and continued on. the jolly roger was still blowing, and the oars were still rowing at a respectable speed, but the naval ship was just too much. the ships name was engraved into the front bow of the ship and painted gold. it was called "the queen" and there was no more hope that capt. deep could find. she called to the crew, and they threw the anchor to the waters. they stood on the deck ready to fight. it was all or nothing now, and the queen hoisted anchor beside them.
