capt. deep carefully eased the ship into the maze of twisted, scattered rocks, ignoring the crys from the rock they had left the thunderbirds. she saw other wrecks scattered along their left and right. people had tried to make it through, but all had failed. maybe capt. deep could be the first one ever to make it through the graveyard, maybe not. she was hoping that she could. she demanded the sails be tucked in, and the oars be pulled in. she also wanted the rutter to be manned at all times by herself. she stood at the wheel, the rutter in one hand, and a wheelpegin the other. she eased the ship left and right as it was needed. there were several times where capt. deep thought they were gonners, but she could turn at just the right time. she was rleived when she saw something besides rocks and shadows, but she saw LIGHT. light which meant the end of the graveyard. she didnt let it distract her however, and she knew she had to keep a steady face and concentrate. they were almost there now, and she couldn' screw it up.
