Capt. Deep pulled out Will’s spare clothes, and he changed as soon as Capt. Deep Was on deck steadying the crew and barking out orders in attempt to keep them all alive. The whirlpool raged on through the night, and as midnight set in, Capt. Deep checked the rope. It was beginning to snap in a few places, and it might not hold out much longer. Charlie, climb the rope quickly up to the crow’s nest and then give me the rope!” Capt. Deep cried.
Charlie climbed as fast as he could and untied the rope in the dark. With only the moon’s light to guide him, he threw down the rope, and Capt. Deep caught it. She tied it to the ship, and swam out to the rock just as she had before. She slid the rope around the rock again, and then untied the rope from before. It fell into the water, and Capt. Deep dove back into the water.
She came up for air, and could see only a speck of light that represented her ship. She swam towards it, careful not to get caught in the whirlpool. She grabbed the rope she had just untied and climbed up it, only to flop onto the deck.
“Rina, are you alright?” Will asked.
“I’m fine, but…” she looked up to Charlie at the crow’s nest. “HAS THE WHIRLPOOL DIED DOWN ANY, CHARLIE?”
Charlie looked out over the railings, and held on tight so he wouldn’t fall. “Aye Captain, it seems to be weaker and smaller in diameter than before!”
Capt. Deep felt relieved. “Whenever it seems smaller or weaker inform us, please!” Capt. Deep replied.
The crew was tossed about until morning with few problems and all of them minor. As morning drew in, the whirlpool was weak enough for the ship to sail out and away.
Capt. Deep commanded them to sail off and she steered them around the rocks. The rocks passed, and there was nothing but Open Ocean and then there was something they hadn’t planned on; a Spanish Galleon, loaded up with treasure from South America.
