“Deal.” Capt. Deep agreed. “But if I win, you must turn our ship to your rudder, and ne’er return.”
“So do we have an accord then, Rina?” Capt. Hawethorn asked.
“Aye, that we do you bilge rat.” Capt. Deep agreed. “Now let me over to yer ship.”
Capt. Hawethorn pushed a long plank over the gap between their ships, and Capt. Deep crossed over. Capt. Deep drew her two swords, and Nina drew her single sword. Nina reached for her single shot, but Capt. Deep stopped her. “How is it a fight if you just shoot me?”
Nina scowled at her, and put her gun away. On the deck of Nina’s ship is where the fight began.
