Capt. Deep and Capt. Ramone drew their words and did battle. Meanwhile, the ship was being repaired to near its original magnificence.
Capt. Deep and Ramone drew their swords and fought until Capt. Deep was knocked into the crashing waves. The small boat of her crewmates floated beside her bobbing head, and tried to help her up. Capt. Deep climbed into the boat and then began to scale the side of the bigger ship. She caught Capt. Ramone off guard, and tackled him.
Capt. Ramone rolled trying to get her tight hold off of him. She tried to lock her arms around his throat to strangle him, but the rest of Capt. Ramone’s crewmates attacked her as well. Capt. Deep held them off by swinging her swords at a few of them, but her sword was eventually knocked from her hand. It flew into the water, and then she heard her crewmates trying their best to get up on deck as well.
Capt. Deep was injured badly when the crew had gotten there, and she managed to sink away with her tail between her legs.
She got to the Captain’s quarters, and searched for weapons, treasures, and medical help. But Capt. Ramone found her. “What are you doing in my room Deep?”
“Looking for you swords.” Capt. Deep said, looking over beside his bed. “Looks like I’ve found them mate.”
“Well look again.” Capt. Ramone sneered.
Capt. Deep looked over to the barrel of swords, and Capt. Ramone tackled her, seeing a moment of opportunity.
Capt. Deep and Ramone fought hand-to-hand, holding each other back and sneering at each other. Capt. Deep spat in Capt. Ramone’s face, and he immediately sat up, wiping his face.
She stood and grabbed a sword and clocked him in the head with the handle. He fell forward, and lay there, unconscious.
Capt. Deep placed her boot on his back, and laughed. “What a fool.” She said. “He actually thought he was good enough to beat me.”
Capt. Ramone groaned. Capt. Deep looked closely at him. Was he really out? Capt. Deep didn’t think so. If he wasn’t pretending, then he hadn’t been hit hard enough. She poked him, and he grabbed her wrist, a knot forming on his head.
He flipped her to the ground, and it seemed as though the entire boat shook. Capt. Deep sat up and the two fought with swords again.
“You know what you’re doing Captain.” Capt. Deep said. “But you fight like you were trained by someone other than a pirate.”
“That’s because I was trained by the navy. My father was the governor of Port Groves and he was attacked by pirates.” Capt. Ramone explained. “Fatally wounded, I pursued the life of a pirate and finished off the pirate who nearly killed my father. I returned home, and was unwelcome. I left them then, and I became a pirate.”
Capt. Deep pushed him back. “You aren’t worthy. You were forced into piracy; you do not act the title because you wish to do so, but because you consider it your only option.”
“Really? Is that what you think of me?” Capt. Ramone asked.
“Aye. What else would I think of you?” Capt. Deep said.
“Perhaps you would think of me as you think of your lover.” Capt. Ramone said.
Capt. Deep was shocked. “What are you talking about, you fool? He chose to become a pirate, and he hasn’t killed another pirate in revenge.”
“No, but he is just like me with only a few minor adjustments.” Capt. Ramone said. “So why do you hate me and not him?”
Capt. Deep only sounded a battle cry and attacked him. Swords clanged and blood dripped occasionally. Eventually, Capt. Ramone had given up. He surrendered, and Capt. Deep took him hostage on his own ship. The crewmates were banished to the brig, and Capt. Ramone was tied to the mast, and the ship set sail. The crewmates could break through the wall, but they risk destroying the ship to break through, like Capt. Deep had done before.
Capt. Ramone’s ship was quickly sailing away, and no one would ever know if they made it out of that predicament alive. At that point in time they didn’t exactly care. Right then, they had to repair the ship the best they could.
The large hole was patched up over night, and in the morning, they cleared the water from the ship and put it back in the ocean it came from.
