School starts tomorrow. I can't help but think of all the cliques and awkwardities that are just waiting for me to stumble over. Everything I'll run into. And why should it be this way in the last run of the last semester of my high school year? I'm a senior for God's sake. And I'm not unliked by all. I'm not liked by all, for certain, but no one goes out of their way to pick on me. Why am I so goddamn unhappy with this?
It's so surreal to walk on campus and see everyone walking along with their life all figured out, knowing that they'll go on to bigger and better things because they've taken their SATs five times, all with flying colors and better the next time than the one before it, sent twenty different applications to state schools, out-of-state schools, out-of-country schools, &c. They've done the whole kit and kaboodle while I'm stuck here in my last semester, squandering my remaining weeks of seniorship away.
No more. I'm grabbing it by the balls and taking it for a ride! School starts tomorrow, and so does the rest of my happy life!
