I finally got all of my Diaryland entries copied over to here. Go me! Now I can start actually puttin' in new entries, which is great because a lot has been goin' on. sweatdrop
I got a promotion at work last week. I didn't want one! I have a new boss and he just made me the site manager where I work. NOOOOO! I know a lot of people probably think that's crazy, but I really prefer to just be in charge of me. I can deal with that. I don't like added responsibility. I can handle it, I just don't like it. I tend to get too stressed and when that happens the insomnia and anxiety attacks start. I always say, you couldn't pay me enough to be the boss, well guess what? They aren't payin' me enough to be the boss! scream
My new job involves tons more work, more hours, more responsibilities and more stress, but no more pay. How the hell does that happen, I'd like to know? My new boss tells me that I can delegate tasks if I need to, but to whom? I have NO STAFF! In addition to the job I already do, I have to take on all these new tasks, which are essentially things HE should be responsible for. What I want to know is, what is he doing if I got promoted to doing his work? That guy needs to step (or I do).
Actually, I'm gettin' used to the responsibilities, but I'm not gettin' used to the workin' weekends! I'm on salary and this guy is workin' me Saturdays and these froggin' 12+ hour Mondays. When do I get to have a life?
He says he's a big advocate for takin' vacation time and said he was upset to hear that I haven't taken a vacation this year or last year. Well, I got news buddy, I haven't taken more than a couple of days off here and there since I started working there four and a half years ago. I also told him that I cancelled my vacation this year because of him. How can I plan to spend that kind of money not knowing if I have a job next week? Ah well.
I'm still gonna take the time off. I'm just gonna spend it tearing up the carpet and laying tile in the spaceship. Then I'm gonna go to Kansas with the mom and help her paint her new house and decorate my bedroom. I get to put out all of My Little Ponies and make it so little girly cute! I'm excited about that and about the tile. Not as excited as I would have been about Argentina, but excited nonetheless.
