as she hung up the phone.
Her body sits numb to the touch...

Her heart has lost its glow.

the pain consumes her soul.
She says a prayer and kneels to God.

Her soul has flown to thee.
Why did you take my little girl

It isn't fair that I am left
to mourn alone for life.
She was my only sunshine,
her smile was warm and bright.
Why is it that you needed her
so early in her life?'
Suddenly her tears were gone.
She felt warmth in her heart.
She heard a voice so loud and clear
that echoed in the dark.
'My child, I am here with you.
The tears you shed, I'll dry.
But please don't mourn her passing on,
I promise, she is fine.
I know the pain within your heart.

each time a spirit leaves my side
I cry the same all day.
I always want to keep them here.
They are my sole concern.
But then I know they have to go
to live a life they've earned.
The little girl who came to you
was first an angel here.
And then one day, she felt your love;
I knew her time was near.
So I gave on loan to you
the angel by my side.
To love and hold so tightly
to comfort, teach and guide.
Her life on Earth was beautiful.
I watched you from afar.
I saw you teach with all your love.
You are my shinning star.
And so with tears in both our eyes
her time on Earth is through.
I'll take good care of our angel
through eternity for you.
And when it's time for you to join;
when all your tasks are done,
I'll be there waiting eagerly
to welcome you back home.
And standing right beside me
will be your ray of light.
