Around seven o'clock, my cell phone rang. Even though only the number showed up, I knew who it was. Good old papa calling to wish me a happy birthday and to see if we could mend things up between us. rolleyes
Over my dead body. I told him that I didn't have anything for him any more, that my bonds to him would be cut from me for as long as I could stand it. And right now, I'm still standing. I neither need nor want anything to do with him, his money, his company, his new family, or anything having to deal with him.
What's really stupid about this is the fact that I'm so connected to him without doing anything. My disease, my depression, my loss. If I could stand the guy for extended periods of time, I'd almost be able to relate to him.
