Damian watched warily as the knife was held inches from his face. He wasn't even mortal and still that knife made him shiver. Heck, no one but the girl could see him. He shouldn't be so scared. The knife flew forward from the man's hand and hit the bullseye on the opposite wall.
The dark entity decided it wasn't fear for himself that he felt. He looked down at the terrified woman beside him. She was the one he feared for. She was young and shy, small and passive, everything she shouldn't be in a place like this. She gulped and took the first step into the crowded bar, gaining confidence as she made her way through the room without being stared at too much. The occasional glance stole her way, but almost everyone in the bar was a fugitive and not willing to give themselves away by staring.
Here, no one asked who you were and no one looked anyone in the eye.
Shadow took a seat at the end of the bar, far into the darkness. Damian sat beside her, facing the room and took measurements of the people around them. Eventually he turned around.
"No one staring," he assured his companion. "You can relax a bit. I'll make sure nothing happens to you."
Shadow nodded very slightly. The drink she had ordered while Damian checked security was placed in front of her with a slight thump. A hesitant sniff was given before she sipped. She coughed at the strength of the alchohol and pushed it towards Damian.
