I was thinking today (mum and douche were out the WHOLE DAMN DAY, ruining one of my last days of vacation) and I thought that maybe it would be fun to write another story. I know, I know, ADD IT TO THE COLLECTION, right? Well guess what? YEAH.
I've wanted to use Del and Stephen Boyd for ages. Since I didn't ever have a place to put them in a roleplay, I thought a story would be better. And I have just the one. It hit me like lightning today.
When sis and I were younger, we discovered the internet by means of Harry Potter forum. This was when the books first came out (LONG time ago), I was in second grade. Anyway, sis and her friend got to talking to these guys...who became our internet friends. There was one for each of us (convienant?) and they became our lives. They were so much older (around 18 ) and we looked up to them. They told us they were from Hawaii and pimps. To us at the time, that was the height of cool. So we all talked with our 'partners' (For lack of a better word), I had an 18 year old named Mikey. I told the dude I was 19 and, well, he believed me. Atleast, I thought he did. Keep in mind that I was 8 or 9 at the time. Anyway, sis had her partner and the friend had her's. We all talked, had a good time, yadda yadda.
I should mention the Rink. A skating rink in our old neighborhood and it was the height of cool to chill there. Everyone who was anyone was there. Every weekend me, sis, and sis's friend went there to be cool. We told the guys about it and they said they'd leave us something there some time. I don't know, I guess they were in Michigan now instead of Hawaii. So one day, while screwing around in a part of the Rink where there was machinery and stuff, sis and I found a note. From the guys. I don't remember what it said, something about "Michelle", my online name, and "Ashley" and "Jaime," sis and sis's friend's online names. Looking back now, I think the friend wrote it and left it for us, signing it as the guys. But that was awsome for us at the time.
Sis told one of the guys about our cottage up north and this phycho that lived across the street. Lo and behold, the guy said they had met the guy and been there. Now I think, yeah, right. They never mentioned it until sis did. Anyway, they said helped the psycho start his boat one time. This was what was scary: we saw some kids helping him one time. One had green hair, sis's partner's trademark. I still haven't figured that one out. Anyway, they one time told sis and me that they were messing around in the woods and one of them spilled their coinage on the ground. They said it was by a small tree alone in a sort of clearing and that we sould go look for it some time. Go figure, it's the woods right by our house. EVEN FREAKIER: We went looking and we found money. Right where they said it'd be. Not much, a few pennies and a couple dimes or so. But still there.
At this point, we were certain these guys were the real thing. But looking back now, I can explain everything...except the money. Well, maybe even that. Anyone could have dropped money in the woods. Hell, the forests are probably full of money. But still...next to a skinny tree all my itself in the middle of a small clearing? Too similar for my comfort. As for the note, I think sis's friend wrote it or had someone write it for her and left it for us. There's NO way these guys could have been so close to us unless they weren't at all. They didn't know about anything we told them until we told them. It's still freaky though...it's the biggest question of my childhood. Who were they really and what was the deal with them? Sounds like a documentary on ancient civilizations, laughs. CONSPIRARCY!!!
So, I'm going to use Del and his stepbrother Stephen in my and my sis's place in the story and they're going to be talking to girls rather than guys. Just to spin it around a bit, not just for myself but for audience reasons. That's a different rant, though.
This is just like The Night Listener. Gabriel didn't know if Pete really existed, either. It was all just mind games...I wish I still had my old hotmail address where I talked to Mike. But I lost the password years ago and it's been closed for sure, I know. Shame, I would have really loved to read all those old emails.
Oh, I almost forgot the end. It ended almost as abruptly as it started, laughs. I forgot my tenth password for my hotmail address and I stopped talking to Mike. Sis and her friend kept talking to their friends for a while, but eventually stopped, also. As for when they stopped, I can only assume. It's terribly sad, actually. I sort of wish I can remember more about them all. They jumpstarted my whole internet experience. And it's not like they were ***** or pressuring us to meet them or anything. Mike wanted to 'cyber' a couple times, but that was it. I still laugh when I remember I told him I was 19. I'm not even 19 right now! I think he knew I wasn't as old as I told him. I mean, wouldn't it have been obvious? I ******** 9 year old. Jesus, this is cracking me up.
SO, thinking about this whole experience of crap kind of inspired me to write a book about it. I'm not used to writing anything that isn't fantasy, so this might be a problem. And...in the years and years I've been writing, I haven't ... actually ... ever ... finished a novel.... gonk But this one'll be worth it, since it's based on A TRUE STORY. Yeaah, this'll be a challenge. heart
