A constant metaphor, the source of countless euphemisms, the sufficient and satisfactory end of the fairy tale. The hero leads his magnificent life, creates legends and blasts through his age as a predecessor whose records must be broken. And after the golden days, and the years in the constant race with death, full of taunts and near-follies, where the athlete wears and hits the first wall. Death catches up, and the runner must choose to keep up with the clock, or to fade into their inevitable end.
Of course, with the heroes and the strong-willed, none will give in so easily, and so they choose to slow down their pace and settle down to a quieter life. Those who have managed to elude their maker are thusly allowed to come to a new home. Alas, these are the ones who have set themselves apart from the others in their generation. Fate has conspired to interfere with their fate during such valiant struggles, and such Fate should follow. To be touched by fate is to partake in a lifelong game of tag. To be pursued by a force until they are proclaimed "it". Thus, with an elaborate metaphor does such a tale begin.
An reclusive town, hidden away in a peaceful Utopian land near the coast, lies rocking away its days keeping the residents in a sweet calm. This tranquil town of Loli Villa holds refuge to those who've reached their limit and are waiting until their hourglass pours its last grain and the days are gone. A village filled to the brim with those who set themselves apart from their respective generations. The beings whose power through will has allotted them a lifetime of great fame and strength; nobility through good deeds and adventure. The residents have become a great many, migrating on a nigh daily basis. True it may be that the citizens are very diverse beings, of many races and people, of all genders and species, a population increase has never been the fault of child conception. One rather bizarre truth about the quaint town, in fact, deals directly with the population. It maintains its residents strictly through immigration. Children have yet to achieve conception within its boundaries. Though there are children whom inhabit the land, they have come as the result of immigration.
