- Title: SimplySmile
- Artist: Berry Checker
- Description: To capture the simple smile of a child who usually provides an obviously fake smile for the camera I came up with the concept of getting her to run up a slide and stop to look at me. The effect of which led to lively looking hair and her missing teeth showing, providing a rare insight to her youth. Making the photograph black and white further pushed the portrait back in time and helped to emphasize her eyes.

- awesome technique. i see exactly where she demonnstrates the concept and how the black and white affect brings the youth and innocence to her eyues and face. i love the way it wasnt an exactly scripted -or posed for- picture and it still has action (with the movement of her hair) it helps the veiwer get a sense of what is happening in the moment of photographing
