- I agree with Yami Sayakal. Peope expect photographs to be exactly like they want them to, if they're not it's not pretty. It's the photographer that decides. And don't worry, you don't suck at taking pictures! And in my eyes this photo isn't too dark, it just adds to the effect. If it were brighter it would ruin the whole concept.

- Having said that, I love how the light only hits the key points in the picture. It adds more emphasis on its meaning by only displaying the used body parts in the action and the bubble itself.

I honestly think you got some harsh criticism from some people. There's more to a picture then just its clarity from brightness. Different lighting in photography is a key component for setting a pictures mood, not just the emotions displayed from the subject of the picture. I wish people could be more open minded and think from not just their own feelings towards the picture, but the artists as well.

- It's really hard to see everything. Might I suggest trying to make the picture brighter? It would probably look better.
