A little angel lay in her bed
Looking through her frosted window,
Hoping that this Christmas would be good.
Maybe, Santa knows what she really wants, but
Can he bring Daddy home?
Did she ask for too much?
She went to the top of the stairs,
Wrapped up in blankets,
Determined to wait all night long.
She stayed, and stayed…
Until she fell asleep,
All wrapped up in her blankets.
Her sleep is peaceful,
So quiet and tired that she never hears
The front door opening.
She does feel the two strong arms lift her up.
Her eyes flutter open and,
Smiling, she cries.
Santa is real, he has to be.
After all, he did what no one else could.
He brought Daddy home.
