Curiosity killed the Cat, or so the story goes
Told many times, it’s become famous prose
Yet sometimes I wonder, it is a bit strange
Was there something missing from this exchange?
Taken simply at face value, no one did say
“Who was the hunter and who was the prey?”
It was simply in this the answer did lie
That Curiosity was the one who was meant to die
Nor was the Cat guilty, though no one had guessed
That the villain was someone they’d never suggest
Hidden in the shadows, neither here nor there
The villain was Ignorance, of whom all were unaware
Still to this day no one has ever really known
If the one who had done it did ever atone
Though I can certainly tell you, though evidence may lack
That by the Satisfaction of Curiosity was the Cat brought back!

Description:
I've always loved the quote "Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back", which became one of the inspirations for this poem, When I read a story written by one of my friends, he brought to light the idea that maybe it was ignorance that really killed the cat, and not its curiosity, which I loved. And so from that, this poem was born.
