• Twas the nights before christmas and all everyone could say, was
"lets go to the market, maybe lets trade"
They saw dresses and pets, swords and horns and devilish things all to be worn.
We talked to each other about what we would get "I want a new egg, but I cant make up my head".
So we walked through town hoping to find,
something to get her, "maybe you can get me that, it shines!"
but alas it was too much and i had to decline
"Im sorry my dear, but my gold will not suffice"
    She smiled and merrily said
"dont worry, maybe something up ahead".
So we traveled through Barton's, H & R and Durems
She could not make up her mind, maybe her head was in the clouds
While my gold was almost gone, her eyes still in the prowl.
We stopped to rest and watch a festive treat, so we stopped, sat on some seats.
Twas a tale of a man, poor as a thatcher, but his heart was strong because love was the song he sung.
We left, my mind a sunder but my dear friends heart seemed to flutter,
I turned and asked "my dear are you alright?,"
She turned to me and said "Yes" and wrapped her arms around me as though losing me was some great fright.
So we walked, back to her house did I escort her, cold nipping at my nose, chills running and i could hear, hear children as they would play and their mothers would call "come in my babes, its time to put the games away."

So to end this tale I walked her up the path to her house, so bright so shining all the lights were and I was happy to see a plastic Santa Clause.
As she reached the door and I turned around, she turned and reached towards me, but my poor friend clumsy as can be, fell down, the ice was the cause, it was most slippery.
I took to the ground to make sure she was alright, I asked "have you hurt yourself?"
she answered "the only pain i feel is when you leave me when youre not by my side."
She looked at me with eyes wide open as though they were going to take me in and she kissed me that cold winters night and I felt something fill me with warmth red as a candle light.

That is my story, short as it may be, may you have love fall on you or somewhere near so that you may see, for I was blind and I hope you are not and you can share love in a holiday
have a candle lit for you and warm you as you share a beautiful christmas, day or night.
